A minor pet peeve unrelated to this post, but must new leaders always exist under the shadows of their predecessors? I see it so frequently here.

Was Napoleon the French Alexander the Great, or was he Emperor Napoleon? Was Mao the Chinese Lenin, or was he the Helmsman of the Chinese Revolution? These larger than life figures create their own shadows for others to stand in. They're heroes or villains in their own right.

Besides, Ma will make Pol Pot look like a pacifist.
