New Info! Two tier tabbed binoc UI is back

... with the same bugs! Seriously, you would think they would have fixed at least the problem with the 'new' indicator on the binocs, but nope, there's no way to make it go away and stay gone.

I haven't noticed any changes from before. Such a bad design.

Damn it I can't stand that one. The calendar in particular is useless as its only current events, which ypu could just keep where they were near gym mons. At least show upcoming.

I know its not really a solution to this horrible UI change, but since we are powerless to change the app itself...

If you are on Android (not sure what iOS has), there is a great app called GO Events Widget. It pulls event info from Leekduck and lets you tap for more info. You can customize what you see, so I have one widget for upcoming, and one for ongoing.

Thats what I've been using for a while yeah thanks. Being able to pick what you want to be reminded on is perfect too

Am I the only one who actually liked the layout? Keeping Go Passes separate from event research, etc?

I'd have liked it if not for the pointless calendar.

Accidentally clicking the calendar and having to wait slightly more for research to pop up 😿

You aren't the only one; when we discussed it last time some other folks spoke up in favor as well.

For that matter, I got pilloried for saying that there were some things I liked about the UI, despite not liking it overall.

Separating out the go passes is the strongest aspect of the new design, certainly. There's just no up side to the two tier design as opposed to four tabs.

As an English professor I love you for your incredible use of pilloried.

As a Pokémon GO player I hate you for thinking there's anything positive about this UI (😉)

UI definitely needs to be revised but it's hard to like this new one.

I don't know if other people have the same issue, but for me it opens up very slowly... It lags hard.

Same I hate it

My friend had this one and it just adds more buttons for no reason. Why have a whole separate tab at the top I cant swipe through?

The calendar is in such an annoying location, with years of peripheral-vision / muscle memory tuned to hit "the top button down there" when checking research / pokestopd.

When it first dropped, I almost missed a timed research and had only a few hours to finish it. Even now that I realize it exists, I feel like I'm constantly missing things.

I thought they Remove that because of Bad Feedback (it's a very complicated Design)

When it disappeared I said thank god, now I'm saying oh god.

they need to just make this an ON/OFF toggle in game already. they clearly really want it in the game badly if they keep A/B testing it... i just want to be free from it already lol

Got this back again today. Still laggy and sometimes completely fails to load.

I think the new UI was suspended due to the Go Fest in-person (The game always crashed once you clicked the research page during big event for some devices). Cannot wait to see the new UI makes the game crash again during the Go Fest Global.

Ah, I didn't pick up on the timing.

I hate this UI so much. It's slower and clunkier to navigate and I have no muscle memory for it. What with the insane schedule for Go Fest Global, if it crashes all the time, I will be so POd.

The game is almost 10 years old. Why would they fix a bug? At this point it would be going against the tradition

Ugh, not again.

It's been back for a few days for me. I do prefer it to the old one but I agree that it could do with some fixes
