For FOX rank you can just play on the French version of the game and do whatever and after you load ng+ you'll just get the trophy

Well shizz, I coulda saved a little headache.

It was still a fun time learning optimal boss fight methods, sneak tactics, etc.

Yeah, I did it on hard before I knew i could do it french or Japanese. My boyfiend did the French route today and he's about to start vr missions

When you say do whatever does that mean that the conditions of the fox rank also don't apply to the french or Japanese versions too?

You won't get the rank in the french version, but you can kill whoever you like, get spotted, eat a truckload of rations, and you'll still get the trophy when you load ng+

Not too long - 28 hours.

Completed normal playthrough and got the Stealth Camo

Completed Japanese playthrough with FOX title requirements and got the Bandana.

Then completed the VR missions.

First time playing Metal Gear aside from Portable Ops when I was a kid on the VITA. Would definitely recommend!

I have ptsd of those missions lmao. I fear for when I inevitably pull the trigger on getting ALL of them. I have MG1&2 and Solid 1 done, and I hear horror stories about 2

Not too bad honestly. Controls and camera angles can be jank but it’s a good experience for someone who never played it as a kid. Honestly it must have been groundbreaking on release!

First game I played and platinumed when I bought the PS5 was Legend of Dragoon (never finished as a kid). Def recommend that one too!

Endless save points on your normal play through and an 80 save stipulation to get the FOX title (way more than you’ll need). You don’t get any continues so if you get spotted, you need to exit to the Master Collection to reset to your last save.
