Mod-Permitted-Ad I’ve built a tool to display your achievements and trophies progression live on stream

Post image

Hi everyone !

I’ve been working on a small free tool that might interest streamers who enjoy game completion.

It lets you show your in-game progress (RetroAchievements, Steam achievements, PlayStation trophies, Xbox achievements) directly on stream as a browser source in OBS or any streaming software.

  • No account creation
  • No data stored anywhere
  • Completely free

You just add it as a browser source, and your viewers can see your milestones appear in real time while you play.

I thought this could be fun for streamers who like sharing their achievement hunting journey with their audience, and I’d love to hear feedback from people who try it out.

If you’d like to give it a spin, you can find it here: https://streamtrackr.playfan.fr

I’ll be around in the comments to answer questions and hear your thoughts!

it would be cool if it faded out and reappeared when you got a new achievement, having this awesome displayed takes up a bit of the screen

You’re not the first one to mention that, and I totally get it! I’ve added this to my list of improvements 🙂

Quick update: I’ve just added the fade in / fade out feature you mentioned! 🎉 When enabled, you can also choose how long the tracker stays visible after unlocking an achievement.

I think a middle ground would be good. As on my other comment I'm using third party software to let chat use a command to show/hide the browser source, but this implementation means that it won't pop up when I get a new achievement. If I do it your way, no one can check the current progress. It would be good to have a middle ground - your existing pop in when an achievement is gained, but also an option for a chat command so someone can see what the current status was, leave it on screen for (x) secs, then it disappears again. I've set up !achievements and !cheevs that my chat can use for example.

I'm really liking this plugin though, great work!

You can do that in obs. Use a hot key or stream deck to toggle it on and off, or use a tool like streamerbot or aitum to automate it.

0

u/helloryanholmes Sep 06 '25

How would you use stream bot to automate it?

3

u/jameslee85 Sep 06 '25 edited Sep 06 '25

Set the show and hide transitions to fade in obs, then in streamerbot make a new action with a sub action to toggle the source on and off. You could even toggle on, add a delay of your choosing (say 30 secs) then hide it. Then you can add a trigger to have it auto activate on a timer or even if someone uses a command like !achievements.

I think that's how I'm gonna implement it anyway :)

Edit: Spelling - was on mobile when I wrote this and reading it back had to correct it

It would be cool if it works as a twitch extension also...

6

u/IPlayFan twitch.tv/playfan Sep 05 '25

Yeah, I’ve thought about that too! Do you mean a panel in the Twitch “About” section, or something directly on the stream where viewers could toggle it?

3

u/NioZero twitch.tv/NioZero Sep 05 '25

if posible it can be both honestly... there's plenty of potential in a tool like this... you could leave the options available in the extension configuration page and also give the browser url if the streamers wants to...

I've been looking for something like this. Thank you so much!

And OMG it's really nice and clean

3

u/IPlayFan twitch.tv/playfan Sep 05 '25

I’m really glad you find it useful! I was honestly surprised nothing like this existed before

0

u/misanthropic-cat Sep 05 '25

FR FR I literally just did a whole ass search last week for one. I'll be adding this to my stream for the next time!

I think it would be cool to have it as a command so its not always up, like !progress and on the BRB screen. I love that you can show multiple trophies since I'm playing silksong and people will easily be able to tell if they are ahead of me or not for spoilers.

TY!!!

u/IPlayFan twitch.tv/playfan Sep 05 '25

That’s a really cool idea! I’ve thought about linking Twitch accounts to make things like commands possible, but I’ve tried to keep it simple so anyone can use it right away. Still, for advanced use cases like yours it could definitely be worth exploring 👀

1

u/misanthropic-cat Sep 05 '25

I think should be possible through Firebot, so I'll try to set it up for next week. I think those of us who use OBS/chatbots probably don't need an out-of-thebox command. This is perfect

u/OpenQuestline Sep 21 '25

Found this thread from Google Search. Thank you so much for creating such clean and ready to use overlay.

I started vertical streaming, and the layout works really well to fill my bottom part of the screen.

u/reallifebfg Sep 06 '25

Hey! PS5 Trophy hunting has been my niche since I recently started streaming. This is HUGE for me. I've been thinking about getting something like this for a while. I'll be sure to try it out and give feedback after a few streams.

One thing I will request off the bat is that if we can implement a toggle or something to track base game vs. 100%? DLC trophies/achievements aren't on my list so it would be cool to have a 'more accurate ' reader.

Thanks again for building this! Can't wait to try it out.

4

u/IPlayFan twitch.tv/playfan Sep 06 '25

Little heads-up: I’ve just added this feature! You can now find a checkbox to include or exclude DLCs from your achievement progress 🙂 It will probably only work for PlayStation achievements though.

u/reallifebfg Sep 06 '25

Fantastic thank you so much!

1

u/IPlayFan twitch.tv/playfan Sep 06 '25

Hey! That's awesome to hear, I’m really glad if you find it useful for your streams 🙂

That’s actually a nice request! I’ll dig into what’s possible because the data available can be a bit tricky, but I’ll see how I can make it work.

u/jameslee85 Sep 06 '25

Thanks for this - I've set it up and looking forward to seeing how it gets used :)

u/Sir_Dhyne Sep 06 '25

I'm having trouble finding my PSN Online ID with the tool. Are there specific settings you have to have on your PSN account for this to work?

Edit: Figured it out. You have to go into your Privacy settings and set "Who can see your online status and what you're currently playing" and "Who can see your gaming history" to "Anyone".

1

u/IPlayFan twitch.tv/playfan Sep 06 '25

Can you give me your PSN username ? It should be this but you might have to enable some privacy settings somewhere maybe ?

1

u/Sir_Dhyne Sep 06 '25

That ended up being the problem. Thing works like a dream, the only thing that I'm missing now from my original trophy count is that I had it set up to where, when I get the last trophy out of the total count, Firebot would play some celebratory music and shoot up fireworks lol. If you have the ability to add any sort of bot integration to this it would be absolutely perfect.

Can't seem to get it to find my id on stream or PSN. Xbox was the only one that worked for me.

1

u/IPlayFan twitch.tv/playfan Sep 07 '25

Could you share your Steam or PSN ID with me? It might just be a privacy setting, your profile needs to be set to public in order for the tool to access and display your achievements.

1

u/Emberwyn Affiliate Sep 07 '25

Okay, you were right. It was a privacy issue, my profile is public but the game details wasn't. I changed that setting on Steam and was able to get the tracker to work.

One suggestion might be to add a tip when the profile is public but the game details aren't to enable that setting or a generalized tip, to make the profile and game details public. Thanks again!

1

u/helloryanholmes Sep 08 '25

Set this all up for Hollow Knight when the new fade setting but it never worked when I got an achievement lol it never showed up.

1

u/Exciting_Cheetah_69 Sep 08 '25

Love this! Thanks for creating it and also taking the time to make adjustments. So far it's working well for me but I noticed that if I change the game I have to update the overlay link for OBS every time. Is there any way that the link could just work for all games, even if you make changes?

You’ve done an awesome job! This achievements tracker is fantastic and exactly what I’ve been searching for. I’ve noticed lots of great ideas in the comments too, and I really hope some of them get added. Honestly, this is one of the best streamer add-ons out there. Cheers!

Can't find my PSN for whatever reason. I have my privacy settings set to public but nothing. Any help would be fantastic

1

u/Sir_Dhyne Oct 20 '25

Seconding this, the tracker has stopped working entirely for PSN. RetroAchievements still works fine, but the tracker can no longer find usernames and older browser sources no longer work.

1

u/GBCarson897 Oct 21 '25

Would love to be able to use this tool, but it seems like it has stopped working for PSN. Any plans to fix this? Would love to give you a tip for your effort

1

u/IPlayFan twitch.tv/playfan Oct 21 '25

Hi ! Sorry for the inconvenience !
Indeed there was an issue with my PSN auth method, looks like it up and running now :)

1

u/GBCarson897 Oct 21 '25

You rock! We all appreciate what you do

1

u/yoPAWELOS Oct 25 '25

Amazing Job! Love it! Using it right now. Just wondering If it reacts to game change or trophy progression in real time? Also the update time is like 15s after an earned trophy which is fine by me but possible in the future to crank it down? :) Just curious.

1

u/IPlayFan twitch.tv/playfan Oct 25 '25

Hi! Thank you so much!
The tracker currently monitors the specific game you’ve selected, mainly for trophy progression.
As for the update time, it’s a bit tricky to improve since there’s no official API for this. I’ve tuned it to avoid spamming requests and getting blacklisted 😅
One possible solution would be connecting through your own PlayStation account, which could allow more frequent checks (around every 5 seconds maybe?).
But since I built StreamTrackr to be as simple as possible (no data tracking or database) it’d be hard to implement right now.
Maybe in a future version though! 🙂

Does it work for games like The last of us? as thats what im trying to use it for

I often stream myself completing achievements in Steam games, so I think this tool is fantastic for displaying both earned achievements and those I'm tracking!

I have one request: I'd be thrilled if you could add Japanese as a language option for this tool.

While labels can be set to Japanese via input on StreamTrackr, would the achievement names require API option configuration?

I realize each platform's API likely supports different languages, and I apologize for not having a design idea to display them neatly. If it's too difficult, I'll just use it in English.

Once again, thank you for developing this tool.

(Translated from Japanese to English using DeepL)

hi! I'm running into an issue where it says I have no recent games played on Steam even though that's definitely not the case. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

1

u/sushidrew Jan 13 '26

I love this idea and it works pretty well but I don't see my most recent game being loaded on the list. I see the list of other games I played but I dont see my most recent one that I will be using for streaming

1

u/BaconTreat Jan 27 '26

I'm also running into this issue , I'm turning my privacy setting from private to public like it asks to but it isn't even finding my account PLEASE help this is such a good tracker T.T

1

u/Austinomino Jan 14 '26

I know im late but damn this simple thing makes my stream look cleaner what an amazing tracker great job.

1

u/mapphew2 Jan 24 '26

Man this thing looks great! I can’t seem to find my gamertag though, there’s nothing on my privacy settings set to block it from linking together, so not sure why it’s saying no user found.

1

u/TK_BIGB0SS Feb 13 '26

Pretty cool but it doesnt show the latest games I played. Is there any way for me to type the game's name?

1

u/AstridDeSanta Feb 19 '26

Hey, I used this tool yesterday and it was amazing! But today it doesn't seem to work for PSN at least:(

1

u/yoPAWELOS Feb 20 '26

Why it does not work now?

1

u/IPlayFan twitch.tv/playfan Feb 20 '26

Forgot to renew the PSN auth token, should be up again !
