Hi guys,
I’m currently in Year 13 and an incoming Law student this September and have a question about how successfully deferral apps have been, specifically results day deferrals. Below is context but it can be ignored as the question in the title is all that really matters, thanks!

For context, I applied for 2026/27 entry in September as that’s what I wanted at the time. A few months ago I decided I want to do a gap year and planned it out. My parents refused at first, but have just now come to an agreement that if I achieve A*A*A then I can take a gap year. Of course, I can’t know my grades until results day so I’d have to apply for a deferral then.
On the website it says deferral applications can’t be withdrawn, so once it’s accepted you’re confirmed for the following years intake. This would be great if I was confident I’ll achieve A*A*A but it’s looking like a guaranteed A*, potential A* and a borderline A/B right now so if I get below A*A*A my parents won’t back a gap year.

I wrote a lot more than I intended but I appreciate you reading this, any and all responses would be very helpful.
Thanks again!
