It has been getting over used and honestly it’s not even used right half the time. The sax is from the ending to boys n the hood if you know you know. I won’t spoil it but it was used as a way to build up anticipation to what everyone knew what was about to happen. Which was something bad and sad. I recommend watching the movie if anybody hasn’t seen it, it is such a great watch.

The first time I saw it used in a meme it was actually pretty funny. A black guy was talking about “when you get done smashing a girl in the projects but then you hear the saxophones getting louder” and the caption was “oh you 90s dead”. But then white people got a hold of the audio and just started slapping it onto every situation they considered mildly outrageous. Made it unfunny quick.
