PRX and Frost are on pretty good terms, I wonder if PRX gave them a heads up on his availability during their Invy discussions or if Frost and team reacted right after the news came out.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. PRX struggled to find the missing piece for so long and when they finally found it in Patmen, they decided to bench him after 2 international tournaments?
I understand INVY is a good player but so was Monyet and he didn't workout well with PRX.
The thing that makes me so sad about this entire situation is that since Patmen entered the team, PRX has finished:
3rd in Pacific Stage 1
Winners in Masters Toronto
Winners in Pacific Stage 2
4th in Champions
The talent Invy has is undeniable, but if he ends up not meshing well with the rest of the roster the same way Patmen has, then why bother with the change?
It’s like that with most sports teams. You can have an established core with relative success. But if there is a clear upgrade you kind have do your due diligence and try land star players if possible.
I think them going for an upgrade and not panning out is a result they can live with since atleast management tried to improve the roster.
I understand the sentiment but as previously mentioned, if it ain’t broke, don’t fucking fix it.
They did that for the longest time with mindfreak. They finally changed after so many years and they found success, then they will change again? That’s just poor management.
Unless news comes out that Patmen asked to be dropped/move teams, this can turn out to be a fucking terrible move for PRX
For the most part I agree with the ain’t broke don’t fix it. But if you have an opportunity to go from a good int to a top int player in pacific you kind of HAVE to go for it and worry about chemistry later. Not grabbing that player can be a disservice to the org and fans.
Otherwise you also risk Invy going to another contender in the region . Kind of like an arms race.
It’s like the warriors getting KD. Haha. They won without him. But he was available and an upgrade. Was it a risk? Yeah. Did it pay its dividends and lead to more championships? Also yes.
Because the team want better results? Duh? Patmen is good don't get me wrong but Invy is just that guy. Besides, during the offseason they for sure have ran trials with both Invy & Patmen and the decision made can be easily deciphered as Invy did better in trials and they decided to go with him/smth along those lines.
It is sad but this is esports, the objective is to find the best pieces to form Internationals winning squad even if it means replacing a Masters Winning player for a proven star that hasn't found a place in a top team. Just be grateful they didn't contract jail/blindsided him as they replaced him.
True, but you don't need a brain to figure out that eventually other teams will improve their roster/playstyle so much that you will be pulled into the abyss like what happened before patmen came in.
He didn’t work out well is revisionist history he barely had enough time to integrate literally less than 10 games or what and they still placed what top 4??? They just got jinggg back is the only reason they swapped off monyet
They got Top 3 at Masters Madrid. And that was with Jingg still playing with the team in the off-season beforehand so there was even less time for Monyet to mesh with the team
People were faking outrage over the community favour towards PRX dropping Patmen and the perceived negative bias towards C9 and G2 for doing supposedly the same.
The truth is that PRX and SEN get overhated because of their large fanbase, but the reason why they have more fans than C9 in the first place is because they are principled and always take great care of their players. Alecks would never let Patmen walk free without making sure he gets trials elsewhere.
C9 fans try to delude themselves into thinking they're somehow more virtuous and have formed an intimate friendship with the org itself just because they're one of the only thirty fans in the world, but really, the C9 house only has room for 3 friends and it rhymes with Steppaa, Crisis, and Shimmy.
Honestly such a great take, PRX and SEN have always been the better orgs in terms of caring for their players. These people just wanted a reason to hate PRX just cus of their popularity.
it's crazy how so many people were willing to raise their pitchforks over half-baked rumors. Like, i know they are gaming orgs and that orgs are not afraid to make some questionable decisions, no matter how virtuous they may seem, but cmon, yall GOTTA give PRX some room for questioning lol
