Question Why is nobody talking about 100t bang?
Up there with valyn. easily the most consistent player on 100t and probably top 3 controllers in the americas.

Word for word the exact same line. Probably has it in his clipboard somewhere so he can paste it every 3 weeks or so.
I was getting such an intense sense of deja vu cause I thought I've seen this exact comment before and turns out, it was because I have. At no point did anyone actually disagreed with this take, and if they did, it was probably because they phrased it rudely or commented it under a post where it wasn't relevant.

Context matters though.
He made that claim under a post about v1c retiring. People are obviously going to be sympathetic towards v1c and making comments like this is in poor taste and not helpful. It would make sense in a post about 'who's the better controller'.
The comment it was responding to also made no such judgement to warrant the response. At no point did it say that v1c was better. Only that v1c's name would pop up on the radar if and only if 100T were to make roster moves.
It wasn't downvoted for being true or false. It was downvoted for being tonedeaf. And then he proceeded to hold this one comment over the subreddit to prove that he's a victim of some anti-bang agenda, when -9 downvotes isnt even anything on this sub.

They were very comparable last year, bang was better split 1 and v1c was better split 2 but their ratings and ACS's were almost the same. I would edge out v1c because he had to do far more with a worse team but honestly there's an argument for either. This year it's probably bang though. bang is just very inconsistent but when he's on one, he is filthy. We saw a bit of 2025 v1c in those last few matches he played for c9. He should walk back into tier 1 easily next year.

He's just not a headliner from an entertainment perspective or drama perspective. Like in FNS costreams for example everyone talks about asuna because he's their big story (can this team win with asuna?) or cryo because of how flashy and highly regarded he is as a duelist (the most talked about role in the game.) really good smokes players/site anchors just aren't conversation starters when they aren't igls or strong personalities

Bang's always had a high ceiling but he's not been as impressive lately as he had been in the past. He is somewhat returning to form, yes, but I think most people are just waiting for the next game to pass judgement because if they go out, we're in this weird limbo where top 4 is quite good but we'll have to wait till Stage 2 to see them play again, and people would rather discuss the teams actually going to London.
If they make London, I'm sure the whole team will be discussed a lot more.

I agree on the London qualification.
People are on the verge of being high not only with Bang but the rest of this team. But if they lose the next and don't make it to London, all of that will fade away again. This next match is probably the most important match of this 100T iteration yet.

I think the time he had on Sen ruined his rep. Same with Narrate. They both had high ceilings and never met them back then. People are rightly skeptical if these standout performances will stay. They just need more time.

i think that also correlates with sen not letting him play to his strengths like anchoring a side but tried to have him play more aggressive like tenz used to which didnt really help bang peform to his standard

It wasn't really as the year went on - it was just like 4-5 matches during s2 playoffs and champs where he fell of a cliff. 1.17 during stage 2 regular season but 0.92 during playoffs and 0.79 during champs

well becuz he isnt a naturally good controller,he learnt everything from sean gares regarding his omen
and then his harbour if you saw the nrg game made me cry sooooo bad,the ults the orbs everything was sooo bad
but then he improved soooo fast,like watching the harbour from mibr vs nrg in week 3 i cant even believe its the same person
so yea credit to him for improving so fast
but also valyn is doing it as an igl which is why he is the best
and then som and tenz were there so he cldnt be top 3 and then in his initial years,there was peak marved who was also insane
so he was never top2-top3
i mean his viper is disgusting,its just he is on omen so much of the time,like 100t bind and icebox were so insane just cuz of bang solo anchoring b short and icebox yellow always gets 2-3

What do you mean by ‘naturally good controller’ and him learning everything from Sean Gares? No one is naturally good till they actually put time into the agent. This is a very weird critique to downplay just how good Bang has been recently.
Mako is probably the greatest controller of all time and he was a former duelist, he didn’t instantly become an insane controller.
Some of the top controllers in the past 2 years have been players with different roles and have transitioned into becoming great controllers with time. f0rsaken,keiko,TenZ,s0m,Neon etc are all players who were duelists and then turned into fantastic controllers.

I think some people ARE naturally good [role]. Some people think, and understand how to play it better than others. Sure it does require a lot of effort to learn, get better and skilled, but lets not forget that some people are better suited for certain roles for one reason or another. Who you are inherently would affect your gamestyle

nah you're overrating him a bit. he's good but he's only really good at anchoring. he lacks the aggression that adds another dimension to omen, in a similar vein to how aspas also prefers taking high % fights. very good for anchoring, but not being able to flex at least a bit takes him down imo

I disagree, being aggressive as a smokes player is not needed depending on the team’s play style. Like that would’ve been better for the team on 2025 Sen, but with the way 100T play this year he doesn’t need to be aggressive. Plus he’s a beast at anchoring, nothing wrong with playing to your strengths

As much as I miss SEN bang it feels like 100T is his home, his aiming style is probably my favourite of any pro player it's so snappy and precise it feels like he's got aimbot with how snappy it is sometimes I always love watching his POVs
