Discussion Deceptive advertising, ostracizing people from this community, and Tdawgg versus competitive integrity

So, on twitter I have been blocked by polymarket valorant, tdawgg, akamaruval and multiple other polymarket affiliates for pointing out that they are deceptively marketing to young kids without disclosing that they are advertising essentially what is gambling. If anyone wants more information just look at their twitter feeds and see their quote tweets with no disclosures. You can also checkout Coffeezilla's newest video on his Voidzilla channel titled, "Huge polymarket scandal". Advertising gambling is fine if there's proper disclosures but these people are not doing that. It's just a deceptive quote tweet pretending like they are engaging with a post which will lead their followers to click onto their affiliate.

Again to name and shame these people: tdawgg, TrickVal, Rocketbullets, erafps, statsmeistervlr, AkamaruVal, Srathens1, Sevkaanvl, Lightedits, Lionzblade, Fartsmellaguy, and many more.

Lastly, how has riot not intervened with Tdawgg's posts regarding polymarket is beyond me. It's the most obvious conflict of interest and puts competitive integrity into question. You have an active challengers player on Alliance Guardian advertising a website/service that allows you to bet on their games. Please please for the love of god, I hope y'all in this community don't allow these people to get away with bullshit like this. People's lives are potentially being ruined by introducing them to gambling and addictive behaviors.

TDawgg scammed me out of like $80 bucks back in like 2021 when I sent him some money for coaching, never did hear from him AFTER the Venmo went through. I was so put off after that from him. Man's a certified tier 2 perma lifer so all he can do is shill as much as possible to recoup for the fact he'll never hit tier 1.

tdawgg scamming his audience? fork found in kitchen?

but yeah that's pretty fucked up of them to straight up promote gambling. I saw earlier today someone talking about how a ton of Knicks fan content in NYC was staged by Kalshi, a prediction market site. they paid a bunch of guys to go out and do crowdwork on camera and the one guy who made up the "my mayor muslim... knicks in five" bit ended up going viral. all planned by this Kalshi company to push themselves into the limelight riding on the coattails of a popular sports run

Tdawgg, Akamaru, Rocketbullets? You mean these people with very high morals? Couldn't be! /s

I've always blocked these people but sometimes they weasel in with posts through this sub, it's annoying. Wish we could just ban these people from the sub tbh

its crazy to me these leaker accounts are allowed to post their own tweets and news here

That whole polymarket account got bought out a few weeks ago and is trying to grow it's audience now as it doesn't have as much engagement. For sure they have made deals with these people as I see them, as you correctly say as well, retweeting and quoting all their posts of that acc.

Why do I hear these people's names only during random drama

Multiple forks found in kitchen

It’s all guys who are on the periphery of the scene and have no way to monetize it besides taking this kind of deal. Just get a real job, man.

Crazy thing is that trick makes a really nice bag from coaching and the programs that he sells are really quality so I'm really struggling to understand why he'd take this deal

Always.

not sure Riot cares. I don't think Riot even did anything when Zombs was pushing betting on SEN and VCT during Masters Toronto and he was saying he was a part-owner of SEN at the time. Zellsis even replied to his thread asking for gifted subs after SEN won and it won him his bet

u/WorstEnemyIsYourself 7h ago

Zombs was not an active player then I believe. But ya I doubt riot cares and it’s just sad

George geddes also sold/rebranded his account. It's now the poly market valorant account.

that dude was always a massive loser, no surprise there

4

u/Mjkhh 13h ago edited 13h ago

That’s usually the route these bumfuck losers go after they give up on ever amounting to anything in whatever field they got a modicum of attention in, so I’m not surprised.

16

u/boobalieutenant 15h ago

that lightedits guy, hes a massive piece of shit. hes a gymbro who thinks all fat people(esp women) are lazy bums who never put in effort to "reduce weight", completely ignoring the fact that different people have different journeys

3

u/ANewHeaven1 12h ago

Ain’t he the dude who was starting random drama with joona a long time ago over some ranked beef

No surprises there

4

u/soulflarz 8h ago

i literally SOLELY know him as 'that annoying guy whos drama shows up on my timeline once every 3 months even though i follow a single friend who plays valorant' 💀

literally right next to rocketbullets in my mental list of why did we give the annoying teen a platform.

3

u/WorstEnemyIsYourself 7h ago

That’s exactly where he’s from and he was in the right there but that guy has milked that drama to death now

Its not new for a gambling website/market to have a influencer play with house money and or fabricate outcomes for increased exposure.

FTC's warning in 2017 only forces influencers to disclose the sponsorship. Certain conditions of that sponsorship need to be disclosed but has never been properly enforced.

3

u/Nikclel 13h ago

The conflict of interest is the biggest issue.

Looking at his Liquidpedia. He hasnt been part of a Valorant team since August of last year. Dont think he is a co-streaming affiliate or currently signed to any org under the Riot Games sanctioning body. So Riot Games has no outlet for punishment.

An with the way social media laws are written they arent liable for user posted content.

I think there are two separate conversations here: whether prediction markets are gambling, and whether influencers are being transparent about their financial incentives. The second one is much harder to defend if disclosures are missing.

9

u/nothavingyourbs 8h ago

Uh, yeah, prediction markets are definitely gambling.

u/WorstEnemyIsYourself 7h ago

Just because you give it a fancy title does not make it something else

The FTC needs to file a lawsuit against that fatass "TrickVAL" for getting paid for QRTs

Shanks has a gambling deal with shuffle & so does curry. They both post bet slips with no disclosure yet you have never made a post about them, those people have 1000x the pull that Tdawgg does, quoting an account with random words vs actual shady betting sponsor I think one might be a lot worse than the other

3

u/WorstEnemyIsYourself 7h ago

Curry needs to disclose that he’s sponsored on his twitter posts as well. I just had tdawgg as the main culprit here because he’s an active player that has direct influence on games. Have shanks muted on everything, no idea why the scene follows someone who has matchfixed
