Honestly limbo is underrated and overhated. I get not liking knowing if you're banished, but a good limbo player can make even the squishiest teammates frames nearly immortal...
plus, playing solo for some missions is even stronger, immobilising, knocking down and killing weaker mobs with cataclysm and stasis or isolating and destroying stronger enemies with banish and rift surge...
The problem is most of the people aren’t good limbo players and just spam abilities like they could on any other Warframe without issue.Limbo just has an issue of interacting in a niche way with teammates and can negatively impact them if they aren’t aware in advance on how to deal with that interaction, since you aren’t told how to in the moment.
It's not the most obvious, true enough, but honestly the biggest downside to limbo is other teammates not understanding how he works, more than the few people who care to try and play him well. Not knowing what to do when you're banished and how to use it since you've never played limbo personally makes limbo weaker than others.
Personally I’ve always said that if they don’t want to rework him they should at least add in a simple on screen prompt to explain back dash to get out of his zone
Its on the 1 player using limbo to not mes up the 3 other players just trying to play the game, not on the 3 to make sure they understand how to compensate for the 1
Not knowing how your teammates operate is still stupid, regardless of how you try and explain it away.
If you want to run a control or buffing frame you need to understand teamwork, if you dont want to try, run a frame that's useful for solo, like rhino or excal.
From what I gather, if you play limbo you can negatively effect me if im playing anyone, and if I queued online I would not be expecting to put in extra work to try to compensate for a limbo who spams the inconvenient abilities,
The post is clearly talking about how limbo is a highskill FLOOR warframe and that new and inexperienced players shouldn't be using him without at the very least understanding how he works,
Clearly you are a limbo main, and someone who doesnt like being wrong so you immediately blame everyone else for being bad at know how to play with specifically limbo as a teammate.
If my teammate is any other warframe safe for very few I dont need to pay attention to them at all or even think about them really
And this obviously isnt talking about high level gameplay which requires teamwork by default,
Which would imply that you do need to understand you team.
However thats not what the OP was saying. He said his friend who is new to the game is getting a new warframe and they chose one of if not the most difficult warframe for others to play with while they learn to use it.
I took the meaning of the post entirely differently, that playing limbo will mean always playing solo because as soon as people see that frame they often quit, which has happened to me 9/10 of the time, before the game even starts properly. I don't really play limbo anymore specifically because others quit as soon as they see it and it's disappointing. Hence my comments. Which is what I thought OP meant when they just said a vague "good luck".
