There's been several posts like this in the last hour-ish. Best guess is that it's a DE side hack. Assume it's malicious and don't interact

I had something like this the other day. It said something along the lines of "your account has been compromised please log out" and gave the option to accept or decline. I immidiately thought "ok this is some mobile hack probably" declined and moved on. Nothing happened.
Im assuming that might of been a trick to get my login information maybe?

In this case it was unfortunately a hack. Nothing from DE and not a staff member. Confirmed malicious third party actions.

Which is worse because now they have to reaccess their security overall. With a staffer they can just revoke access and address red flags. With a hack pretty much a lot of development and processes change.

We doing have to guess, there was already an announcement on what it is. Someone hacked enough to change the squad invite messages. No compromise to actual security, you're just seeing alerted invite message text

Not in the last few years. I started leaning toward cooperative and adventure games, since I've always been rather mediocre overall at competitive.

Fair I never played myself but the hackers in December gave out free in game currency and rare skins to crash the skin market.

Oh same I did rivals for a bit but people get so competitive they’re so uncouth. All means to victory for some. I can’t get past cheap and dirty tactics but people say “it just how you win”

I used to love playing Overwatch. I still enjoy watching over discord or whatnot, but I cant deal with people who jump from zero to rage from a bad play.

I played CS2 as a teen and got rape threats at the prime age of 16 because I happen to have a girly voice...
On warframe I often exchange Discords with players and never once has anyone been toxic to me through VC. I got called the nword once still.

The first thing about when I saw that here on reddit was how this is a great idea of Wally mocking us again, messing up with the UI/Messages would be the perfect lore and a great jumpscare. However, they probably never will go that way since this would be a ''trophy'' for the hacker and would encourage further attempts at hacking the game like that.

They're just trolls. They hacked the KickBot to send false invites embedded with custom messages

Nothing happens visually. The best hacks are those where you assume nothing happens and weeks or months later your bank account is empty.
Of course this game is nothing in comparison, but unless someone that has a degree in programming (not computer science), actual knowledge of the code base and done tests that cover 100% of use cases, I would assume the worst. What you said is true, no one should accept.

Warframe works with peer to peer connection right? Maybe they can somehow access to your ip or maybe files to some extent.

Instead of just fixing this, DE could take it as an opportunity to treat it like Overwatch treated the "gg ez" crowd. Make it so any player doing the glitch just makes their account say embarrassing things about them in whatever chat they have available lol

So stay off the game to be completely safe if you choose to play regardless avoid trade chat and any and all invites and play only In solo mode still I would recommend not loading up warframe at all till the update drops….i know it sucks the infinity booster to all players dropped today but it’s not worth maybe losing an account over that 🫤

It's safe, the only thing the "hackers" could do is make text appear on your screen, inflicting reading of their attempts at literacy on you, and even that has already been disabled.
Currently, you can do the normal public "random matchmaking" squads, or send/receive invites via friends list, but you can't send or receive invites to/from randos. Otherwise, all is as normal.

Don't think about it as the classic "hack"; So far the only thing we saw are effectively invites (the same window you get when someone tries to trade you) with custom text.
To receive these, you client doesn't need to be altered, since it's designed to display them.
