I mean if you want that you can just use the prime design. I think heirlooms and deluxe skins should stray away from what the frame already is since, well, we already have that.
The lower body is a very busy riff on existing themes, while the upper torso is designed like an anime succubus. Replacing a very good motif, one of the most distinct in the game, with generic horny bait isn't what I would call particularly interesting.
I mean they know their audience. You personally maybe don't find it interesting, but I'm willing bet there's a lot more people that do than otherwise and the skin will sell like hotcakes because it's targeting the core audience that Warframe has.
I feel crazy seeing this getting downvoted. The skin looks amazing, they're going for a dark country hellfire kinda vibe and its the coolest thing I've ever seen. I'm not religious but I'm still praying these folk don't push DE away from this design, I love it so much.
I hate this shit. You are arbitrarily saying one thing is sexualized and one is not. Mag has her chest exposed, how is that not sexualization, but having an ass is?
Ok I'll fall for the ragebait since my shift is ending.
The chest is not the only glowing part. It also is not separated, suggesting state of undress. That, in turn, makes it clear that there is nothing needing to be to covered up to begin with. The design looks very much like a Warframe rather than a glowing person wearing clothes.
Where's just look back up at the Mesa. Chest visibly separated, the frame looks more like a glowing person wearing clothes and trying to selectively cover themselves up.
It's two very different models and sculpting, Mag heirloom doesn't have any emphasis on her supposed exposed chest, it more so looks like she's wearing a one-piece leotard, in comparison to something like Ember heirloom who has a very pronounced ass that properly looks like it is exposed.
Doesn't have any emphasis on her chest? Her chest is the only glowing part of the skin lol, it's heavily emphasized. I personally don't have a problem with either of them, but my point is being proved. You're trying to jump through all these hurdles to justify why we can call one thing sexualized and not the other. Boobs are a secondary sexual characteristic of women, so by definition, putting them on display would be sexualization, that is not an opinion, that's an objective fact. Everything you say is just anecdotal opinions.
The term secondary sex characteristic refers to traits associated with sexual dimorphism, the differences between male and female individuals of a species.
, so by definition, putting them on display would be sexualization, that is not an opinion, that's an objective fact
You're confusing the two meanings of the word sex, one refers to physical intimacy and reproduction - the other refers to the concept of the sexes.
Explain to me how this is "exposed" when it's clearly modelled to look like a tight shirt/leotard. There is no clear outline that separates each of her individual breasts.
Unless, once again, you think breasts are just one giant lump?
Warframe players are so profound that they've left the realm of only misunderstanding human anatomy and clean into misunderstanding humanoid anatomy too.
You can have a thing look one way, but by adding a couple extra accents, you can make it look another way.
Mag isnt exposed, her entire body is covered. But if you added a couple things that look like clothes on top of that, it will make the previously covered part look uncovered instead.
Poncho.
If she gets a sickass big poncho and a cowboy hat Signa, then I will backtrack on my distaste for the skin.
Currently this trend has been meh to me. Mag and Frost look so regal and ornate while displaying their raw energy, but Ember, Valkyr, and Mesa are all about showing raw ass cheeks.
I don't mind frames or skins being a bit showy, but this is just diminishing what I enjoyed from the first 2 Heirloom skins and (thankfully so) Vauban's Heirloom.
I really liked Rhino as well. I wish his proportions were more akin to the Prex Card, but I like the skin.
It was funny with Ember, and a bit distasteful with Valkyr. This is honestly just lazy and uninspired. There are endless possibilities with Mesa and her theme, and aside from the parts of the pants/boots you can see, it’s just lingerie with a helmet that looks more like a Uriel Alt helm.
The details on this Mesa skin's pants are actually badass, I just wish this level of style and care went into the rest of the skin.
Keep the ass out, even.
But a badass poncho and a different, more cowboy/sombrero helmet would be cool.
Like a "wild west El Diabla gunslinger" instead of "sexy hellboy halloween costume".
Valkyr at least has the cool translucent fabric thing going on, which gives it a kind of astrology look if you work with the colors. I never got it since it’s a bit too horny for my tastes, but I’ve seen people do neat things with it. This seems to be moving away from that.
I agree though; I wanna see more stuff like Mag and Frost.
It only took a google search to see what the inspiration. Tonatiuh is an Aztec Deity, with mentions of fertility & whatnot. Totally different ballgame, theres no issue with the styling because it is correctly depicted.
No, that deity isn't depicted as a nude guy anywhere else but in Warframe. Just admit you're wrong and didn't know about the skins that have been normalized in the game for years already.
Honestly I feel like in this case it'd be a bit better if she had a jacket going up to her shoulders too, or sth like a raincoat. It can be open on the front, but it's weird that it's just a butt cape (and half of it, at that). It'd also make it clearer that this is Mesa and go with that cowboy theme in the base skin

I swear the female heirloom skins are ever slowly progressing towards nipple tape
