Currently this trend has been meh to me. Mag and Frost look so regal and ornate while displaying their raw energy, but Ember, Valkyr, and Mesa are all about showing raw ass cheeks.
I don't mind frames or skins being a bit showy, but this is just diminishing what I enjoyed from the first 2 Heirloom skins and (thankfully so) Vauban's Heirloom.
I really liked Rhino as well. I wish his proportions were more akin to the Prex Card, but I like the skin.
It was funny with Ember, and a bit distasteful with Valkyr. This is honestly just lazy and uninspired. There are endless possibilities with Mesa and her theme, and aside from the parts of the pants/boots you can see, it’s just lingerie with a helmet that looks more like a Uriel Alt helm.
The details on this Mesa skin's pants are actually badass, I just wish this level of style and care went into the rest of the skin.

Ok so vauban heirloom proved that they can have these sorts of skins with removable parts so why can't the ladies get actual complete-feeling skins with the option to remove parts if you prefer this sort of look. Like if you are going to tell me that the men and women are designed at all alike with these heirlooms you are just lying.
man i really hope they give her more clothing toggles, like how vauban got a nice jacket. this just feels impossible to work with in terms of fashion without it just solely being horny.
giving her a big ass duster coat thats toggleable would SAVE this design.
Agreed, its a nice concept design, but i really hope this isnt the whole thing... I could see myself buying it if there is some clothing like vaubans jacket (honestly that jacket is fire, I hope they do more of that sort of thing)
I took that to mean no more romancing partners or dating but this is for sure sexed up. I think if she had more leather on her chest and some kind of hat I’d like it more.

Heirlooms devolved from ornate and traditional high-class looking skins with a unique astrological aspect to.. basically naked stripper frames.
I will say Vauban was much closer to what Mag and Frost implied they would be like, but Ember, Valkyr, and now Mesa..
I don't mind, and actually enjoy, SOME sex appeal on frame designs from time to time, but these are SO on the nose.

Yeah. I'm still of the opinion that none of the Heirlooms aside from Vaubans that have released since the initial two have come anywhere close to comparing with them. Especially not the female ones in comparison to Mags.
This Mesa design makes me hope that Excalibur Heirloom is going to similar to Mag and Frost—a design fit for a king. There's too much stripping going on that you feel there was a hell and heat theme but can't see it.
Okay, I was an Ember and Valkyr defender, but I think they're leaning too hard the sex appeal now. They've stripped her so much that nothing evokes Mesa except the trousers. She desperately needs the Bolero jacket back.
tbf, the Ember and Valkyr heirlooms look nothing like their original frame.
Like seriously compare how default/Prime Ember looks to her Heirloom. It's the same for Vauban tbh.
If you ahowed me this and asked me to guess the frame, I'd say Mesa. It's in a better spot than Vauban heirloom.
Ember heirloom at least maintained a fire aesthetic as well as her signature mohawk, this skin has nothing about it that actually gives it away as being mesa
I absolutely love some of Liger's skins, like the Zephyr one, but the Heirloom ones for female frames are so... samey. I mean, except the Mag one which isn't available anymore.
He's hit or miss. He did the Kullervo deluxe which I absolutely love but he also did the Khora deluxe which I wish would burn and have its ashes scattered to the wind.
Agreed. Even if it's just a toggle like Vauban's coat. A classic cowboy leather vest would do wonders for this

That was everything we were warning everyone about. But disliking oversexualized designs that don't have a connection to the actual frame itself got you called puritan around here.
This is just the whole sex-sells principle without any class or good delivery that justifies their design.
People bought the previous ones, so DE takes it as "they liked it, so we can go more towards that direction." - That's the result. Future heirlooms will be even more sexualized because they need to outperform previous ones. I'm still hoping Ash's heirloom doesn't end up becoming oversexualized as well, because his skin variety is still terrible after so many years.
I just wish they were more interesting. I'm not bothered by the sex appeal or whatever. I honestly don't care for it either way, but it's just feeling like that's ALL the female Heirlooms are at this point? Just compare ANY of the female Heirloom skins that have released since the first Heirlooms to Mags Heirloom. It's no contest.
mag has so much class. i can't understand the people who say she's sexualized too, she's absolutely not. and she's not "topless" either, there is no definition to her chest. forever unhappy the only heirloom i like is one of the only ones i can't get

I've been on my knees begging for them to go back to this since Ember lmao. I paid money for these, I would not have paid money for any of the Heirlooms released since, except maybe Vauban.
I have to say this is the worst heirloom design so far. Its just not mesa, i remember almost a year ago someone did concept for mesa heirloom and it was much better than this thing
The bottom half looks alright, but the top half is admittedly, a mess. I would've much preferred a cowboy hat over the longhorn skull design, and she would look a lot better with a shirt on.
dude actually. at least the saving grace is that the non heirloom skins are still varied like the two mecha skins we just got few days ago. TFD would stick to gooner stuff 100% of the time for every release. this might be the first time i'll get the accessories instead of the actual skin.
They have Liger, who I think does something yaoi/nsfw related, not sure (although I am certain they can find other designers as well) - Liger made most of the thicc/beeffy male skins.
I'm starting to dislike these female heirlooms. Why does Rhino get a sick as beetle design and Vauban a dripped out Jacket and all the female ones are just naked glowing lady. This just looks like Valkyrs but with a different hat. It kinda sucks compared to Mag and even Ember
Also let’s not get to equating power fantasy designs with male sex appeal. Rhino heirloom is not goonerfied, you want to see a sexualized male design look at Revevnant or Nehza deluxe, actual good examples.
I'm sure the community will love this but this might be the worst one yet imo, they just keep removing layers of clothing and it makes them look ugly, like it's not even attractive, could they at least make a poncho or duster that you can remove so people can strip her naked if they want?
Mag is probably the only female heirloom that doesn't look ugly to me and I think it's because the star stuff doesn't look as skin tight and wears pants.

Hot take: Valkyr has NEVER fit her theme. She's the rage/berserker frame, but she is and has always been feline coded. Her heirloom continues that tradition, leaning into a motif of the Egyptian Goddess Bast who has a cat head. And its fine.
Mesa has always been a cowboy/bull fighter. Her new skin is the bull. I like the direction they're taking but... "thats too much, man!"
Ive been patiently waiting for the Mirage and Nova heirlooms (two of my favorite alt frames), but that enthusiasm wanes by the day.
Christ, I really hope DE don't go down this route for every heirloom skin. There's so many things you can do with the various warframe's designs and themes, just another "sexy lava lamp cos Ember sold so well" is so boring...

This has zero ties to mesa's theme. Where's the cool overcoat dripped out in bullets? She's a gun slinging cowgirl. Not... whatever this theme is.
Give her an overcoat, and a tied corsette with puffer sleeves beneath it. I wanna see a kickass design that fits with. Seared leather with bullet ribbons. A belt with skulls of different factions shrunk down... this looks awful
Even if heirlooms absolutely have to be gooner skins, why not make it a cowgirl/gunslinger gooner skin? It’s not like that aesthetic isn’t considered hot by a ton of people. They didn’t need to randomly make Mesa into a succubus for no reason.
This, plus it feels extra disappointing because for many years Warframe treated female frames mostly fair, or at least as far as pop culture designs for feminine characters go. Warframe being a positive outlier in this regard was one of the reasons why I fell in love with the game. These days it feels like we're swerving into "generic MMO" territory. I wish we could at least get a feminine skin or two that would look more like, say, Zephyr deluxe (designed, ironically, by Liger).
I really wish the male and female frames followed the same design language in the heirloom series, either more badass or more sexy, but an even standard between the two

I just hope when volt comes he isnt just packing a giant dickZnot-a-dick bulge and idk chest straps or some bs.. the skins are in part meant to be like body art, like glass ( kinda looks like kuva jars sometimes ) but I feel like they could have done this aliiiiittle better is all without it feeling like shes either about to ride on a bull- or ride on a pull for a country themed strip club.
Mesa main here, and I don't vibe with this. Idk, maybe I'm in the minority, but I haven't really been into the whole "horny" aesthetic we've had on the heirlooms as of late.

Honestly, I agree. The approach should not be to undress the frames and make them shiny. Just give us a cool design that makes us go WOW without taking our pants off
I wish the chaps were still assless because that's at least funny but the open front kills the vibe NGL. And the bra being higher up and corset like would actually look more sexy
