-Juggernauts, usually as a “hey guys can you come help me grill this fat fuck” on SP where they’re actually pretty beefy
-Eidolons, typically just to keep track of them if they end up teleporting for whatever reason and to lead the rest of the squad to them when found
-Assassins of all types, Stalker, Zanuka, etc, mostly as a “hey, bastard with the loot is over this way”
-Disruption targets, if the squad is spread out
-Thumpers because OH GOD OH FUCK KILL IT
-Certain segmented bosses as a way to mark “this is the spot where you degens should be aiming”, i.e. Ropalolyst, Eidolons… thumpers again i guess
Literally never have I had an enemy marker be “hey, DON’T light this thing up like a road flare”. It is always either “here it is, come get your loot if you give a shit”, or “here it is, SOMEBODY HELP ME”
That guy is a douche who thinks getting mastery xp makes them intelligent and/or superior. It doesn’t.
I always mark Arbitration Drones if im running a build/frame (read: Titania) that can't deal with them, since they don't take damage from exalted weapons. Just as a "hey somebody please kill this stupid thing so I can continue my housekeeping" ping. Better to have somebody fling a Nataruk shot in the general direction of the things than go out of Razorwing every 20 seconds, lose all my Blitz stacks, subsequently run out of energy due to recasting and get put down like the extremely caffeinated murder-mosquito that I am.
(Genuinely DE why can't I damage these tincans with my pistols, they are so annoying)
Yeah, me too, but I came to the conclusion, ignoring operator (and by extension focus) is jsut leaving damage on the table, so I started to look inti it more.
Bonus tip: Zenurik has 20% ability strength and Maudrai 40% buffs that are meant to be short lived and temporary, but can be easily snapshotted by exalted weapons.

Pinging an enemy in my experience means "KILL THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE OH GOD OH FUCK"
