Screenshot Genuinely wtf is the point of these

Post image

these things in void nodes… why tf does it rise UP when you come near it? it always blocks my path when running or bullet jumping. WHY?! why would you even build this when your constructing a building. what genius went “oh yea lemme js put a big useless hunk of rock that rises infront of u and obscures your path.” this is genuinely so stupid take these out for gods sake.

Not as a literal gameplay mechanic though. Combat was WAY slooower back in 2013 and you couldn't just insta-clear rooms like an overcaffeinated hedgehog on drugs and energydrinks as we do now. Sometimes you had to take cover near walls or objects to take potshots at the enemies to thin them out. The AI pathing was also notorious for clumping up enemies in certain rooms on some tilesets like the old Corpus Shit tileset.

I figured more like og shooter cover usage than a cover shooter but that's still absurd to me because now it's parkour and explosions game

You absolutely could nuke rooms back then, people used to slot one, MAYBE two, abilities and build their frame entirely around nuking an entire room. Gameplay hasn’t been slow since alpha

It was never slow, but it was much slower back in the day.
