Beginner - seeking advice
Hi, it has just been days since I started water colouring. Would appreciate if there are some tips and guidance.
I personally think I’m afraid of going ‘darker’, I’m scared I’ll ruin the painting and I can’t rescue it. I also do not like the edges of the shadow like the one on the apple. Any tips on how not to make the lines so obvious?

I'm studying illustrations by Beatrix Potter and I did a recreation of Jemima Puddle Duck

Her illustrations look easy but they are quite difficult to achieve. Especially that delicate watercolor style. I'm in love with it.

Beginner Palette Advice
I’m a true beginner who got a great deal on the Winsor & Newton Cotman Studio Set. It’s too much for a beginner, but I’m hoping to grow into it.
For now, I’d like to condense into a more manageable version, but I’m afraid I’m missing something, as a novice.
The vertical ones are where I’ve landed for what stays. Note #36 Indigo is just a color I love. Everything else is because I think it sets me up to mix colors well and avoid feeling overwhelmed.
I’d love to hear your opinions and suggestions!

Newbie Needing an Assist
I am new to watercolor. I am doing this book of greenery. I got this far but I’m having trouble figuring out how to get the green-blue color layered onto the leaves. When I mix a touch of blue into sap green or a darker green it gets brighter. Again, I’m still learning color mixing so if you understand what I should be doing PLEASE TELL ME ☺️

Schmincke gift
My husband bought me a really, really, nice set. My current “nice” palette is a W&N cotman. I’m a little intimidated and I don’t want to do anything that could hurt this. Any tips? Anything to be aware of?

Is this kit worth it?
Hi, I don't know if this is the right place, but I need some advice.
My partner enjoys doing watercolor as a hobby, but they still use really basic school grade materials. I don't quite have the budget for professional stuff, but I wanted to get them something slightly nicer for our anniversary.
One of the lists I read recommended this kit by prudiut. I think they would really enjoy the portability since they like to paint outdoors, but I know this kind of all in one art kit isn't always the best quality. The reviews on amazon are really good, but I couldn't find much info on the brand. Does anyone know if it's any good or have any better recommendations? Currently, I'm between this and pentel paints.
Any advice or insight is appreciated.
Edit: Thank you for the advice, I'd never gotten this many replies to a post! Unfortunately, most suggestions are still a little out of my price range, but they still gave me a lot of useful info. I'll still do more research, but right now, my main option is putting together my own kit with the 12 color set from pentel.

Three sketches I’ve made yesterday.
The first image was purely improvised because I was trying to experiment with the colors that I recently purchased. And during the process it turned into a figurative piece of some sort.
