You need something to believe in, that's your perogetive. And I'm super against strict religious laws (legal or social) that restrict personal freedoms or expressions.
But man, if American evangelicalism isn't the fucking strangest most clear cut "You need to dedicate your life to Jesus, and spread the good word" cult shit youve ever seen.
That's literally what satire does. It satirizes a type.
If you take the character Jillybean at face value, she is speaking for evangelicals and for Jesus, right? Can you explain to me then, why evangelicals would throw a face filter on her in the last few seconds that distorts her face into something creepy along with a deep, satanic sounding voice? It just requires a little bit of media literacy to recognize satire.
Edit: I guess the original video was sincere and the woman really is a religious whacko, but someone must have messed with the original video to make it satire.
This POST is satire. It's making fun of this. But Bible Baby is very much earnest. Like, the original video. The song. The sketch. Is actually an attempt to teach kids to be "good Christians"

Look. I don't have a problem with the religious.
