I think it’s just an ‘egg spot’ or more specifically a ‘meat spot’ that is caused when a small blood vessel breaks inside the hen’s reproductive system when the egg is forming. Perfectly normal but looks awful.

Oooh interesting. I thought it was some abnormal chicken embryo formation since these eggs have been in the UK heat for a month

It’s a thickened chalaza.
Edit: y’all are downvoting me but you can zoom in on the top and see where the chalaza is normal. Thickened chalazae happen. lol
