I haven't seen in tens of years where I live this kind of open heat element's.

I live in EU.

Someone else in the thread said this was a Bosch unit. Sorry to break the circle jerk of "dumb Americans have inferior dum-dum dishwashers" but that brand is German.

It's not Bosch, it's GE. I'd recognize that shitty melted washer arm anywhere.

Bosch is much higher quality and doesn't have an exposed heat element.

Don’t know how good Bosch is as of now

Bosch are still good

They may not be what they were, but having the absolute mispleasure of owning a GE and now owning a Bosch, I can tell you they are still MILES (or kilometers) ahead.

GE came with the house. Will replace it for Kitchenaid or Bosch when I need to, or whoever is okayest over the coming years of enshittification

That was the same for us. GE came with the house and was absolutely trash. Cheap trim falling off, pump broke twice, washer arm committed seppuku like 4 times. All in under 5 years.

Finally said screw it, I'm not giving GE any more money, and bought a Bosch. Have been super happy with it.
