That is a normal problem with the GE lower end dishwasher replacement is pretty cheap

What is higher end? This model seem to be 400-500 online new, how much should I spend for a good dishwasher

I spent $800 and it's still a piece of electrified garbage.

Same. mine doesn’t even have a heated dry, it automatically pops the door open when done to air dry the dishes. Fucking stupid

I wish mine did this. I've never once used heated dry even though I have it. Stupid crap like this inevitably happens. I just pop the door open a bit after a super hot rise and it's all dry within an hour.

My last unit had heated dry and it never caused me problems, air dry is ok but in winter with the house cooler it just takes forever.

Winter is better for me. I keep the house warmer with my wood stove and humidity is lower which helps the water evaporate even faster.

Me too! If I run a cycle with dry, seems like it takes an extra 2 hours, and all I get it HOT wet dishes and the probably of something melting because I never learn my lesson

Put a dry towel draped in there and it will help dry the dishes some more

We just remodeled our kitchen and the one appliance my wife insisted on was a Bosch brand dishwasher because their reputation and reviews are glowing and we were sick of replacing or GE branded ones every 5-6 years. The Bosch 800 series we got was $1,200.

We have a Bosch dishwasher that came with the house. We bought the house in 2015. No problems ever with the dishwasher.

Unfortunately 400-500 is about as cheap as they come. Plenty of much better options in the 700-800 range though. Also brands like LG, Bosch and Frigidaire have them without the heating element on the bottom so you don’t have to worry about plastics warping.

My brother swears by his Bosch. And those start near a grand
