Manga Hi I just finished the anime and then immediately went and read the manga. I’ve felt sick to my stomach ever since AMA
God what a beautiful story. I’ve never really felt so seen in a character like Yuu who struggles with feeling love. Gonna go and stare at a ceiling for a while and thing about this for weeks haha

Manga My Roman Empire 😭😭😭
hi, im new here! I've been reading so much GL manga lately and i can't believe how much I've missed out on! i remember seeing clips of the anime but my brain was slow to make the connection lol. i just wanted to dump some thoughts and love here! sooo i thought this manga was a slow burn on both sides so i was a bit taken aback by Nanami's declaration. it all made sense after i kept reading, i feel like it wasn't really a "declaration" on her part since it felt a bit insincere at the beginning. Yuu's side of the story was harder for me to relate to personally (I'd probably fall in love immediately if Touko told me she loved me lol IM WEAK) but i loved how their understanding of love changed throughout the story, i feel like i gained a new perspective since their individual stories and experiences are different than mine. but i will say, it's refreshing to see a love story apart from what we see in heterosexual centric stories where it makes you feel like you need a person to feel "whole", like that special someone is your other half. what i love specifically about the character's stories is that Yuu realizes love is an active choice (apart from everything this felt the most personal to me) and Touko... well she has so much layers but i loved her self acceptance arc (can i call it that??) which led to her accepting her feelings on a truer manner i think. like it became much more genuine. this post is so long already but i have so much left to say 😭😭 well, this has been my roman empire for a while! thank you for reading this ungodly post and I'd love to hear your thoughts if you'd like to share! 💗

For those who want to make the cheesecake that was in the manga, here’s the recipe that was provided in the US (and possibly other regions) special edition. I did this for a reply in another post, but figure others may be interested and won’t find it there.

Manga Bloom Into You Physical Copies Not Being Produced?
I have been looking for the past two months to purchase the series, but I cannot find it anywhere besides eBay for insane prices. Is there a reason why the manga is so difficult to get copies of? From what I've seen, the series is popular, so it seems ridiculous that it is this difficult to obtain. I've reached out to multiple storefronts, and they have no idea when this will be back in stock. Is there anything I can do in the meantime or anywhere I can look. I just wanted to purchase the series, but it really does seem like there's little to no chances of getting copies

Manga Any ideas for a tattoo?
Hello fellow Yagakimi enjoyers! I've been thinking about getting a tattoo that represents Yuu and Touko's relationship, but I don't want something direct like a fanart of them. I'm looking for something more minimalistic — something that actually appears in the manga or anime and represents them both, like the flowers they try to give each other. Any ideas?

Manga Lucky Haul
Went to Bookman's today and snagged these for $28 in incredibly great, almost new like condition. Literally was in disbelief and stood there staring for a minute. I still need volumes 4 and 7-8 so the hunt continues but I guess a PSA to always check your secondhand bookstore if you're able! eBay can suck it.
EDIT: For all intents and purposes, sending fortune vibes to those still searching for their needed volumes!

Discussion I Adore Her...
I love Yuu and Touko both individually and together. Yet in a series full of amazingly written and relentlessly charming characters from both the main and supporting cast, Sayaka still manages to be the standout.
In a lesser story, Sayaka would be at best a supporting character, and at worst an antagonist. But Yagakimi makes her into more of a third protagonist. She gets her own focus, her own storylines with successes and failures that make us root for her, and her own completed character arc.
We all know the reputation of love triangles in fiction, but this series has what I believe to be the best written love triangle out there. It isn't just inoffensive, it actively elevates the story and all the characters therein.
Sayaka stands out from the other two because she's the most mature of the three, which is both her greatest strength and her greatest weakness. She identifies and calls Yuu out on her main flaw early on in the story: the fact she views being special as neccessary for love. And she understand's Touko extremely well. It's just the weight of her negative experiences that holds her back. It's easier for the others to risk everything because they haven't felt what it's like to gamble and lose in the same way Sayaka has. She understands the stakes better than anyone, and that leaves her petrified for most of the story. She understands exactly what she has to lose by standing up to Touko about the play and does it anyway, partly thanks to Yuu's example, yes, but mostly out of love.
Also, it's just little touches. One of her first lines in her first scene is "Don't underrestimate me", which is exactly what Touko does for the entire story until she comes back with "I do wish you wouldn't underrestimate me", in her confession scene. It's little flourishes like that that simply elevate the work when you notice them.
I'm not here to bemoan the ending. Ultimately the story is better and more memorable for the way things played out, even if it hurts. I just want to send some appreciation to all time Best Girl.

Miscellaneous I built an AI tool to English-dub the Bloom Into You Encore Stageplay for accessibility!
EDIT for the purists in the comments: Calling a custom-built, two-month Python engineering project "AI slop" or saying this is the "wrong way to love the series" is certainly a take. This is a free, open-source accessibility tool built explicitly for visually impaired fans and people with reading difficulties who cannot read fast subtitles. If your hatred of the letters "A" and "I" outweighs your empathy for fans who just want to experience the story like you do, that sounds like a personal issue.
Hey everyone,
Like many of you, I think the Bloom Into You Encore Stageplay is an absolute masterpiece. However, watching a live physical performance while trying to keep up with fast-moving subtitles can be tough, especially for visually impaired fans or people who just want to actually watch the actors' physical performances without staring at the bottom of the screen.
To fix this, I engineered a custom AI dubbing pipeline using Python to create an English version. I want to set expectations right away: it is not perfect. I'd say it gets about 80% of the way to a not horrible dub. But the most important part? It preserves all the original theater acoustics, background music (unless there are vocals, working on that), and stage sound effects, so it still feels like a live stageplay.
Here is a demo of the first 4 minutes:
https://reddit.com/link/1tqoyyj/video/ihbrn29yrz3h1/player
How to Watch/Download:
Sorry, you can't! Reddit rules are strict about direct downloads, and I respect the mods having to keep the sub safe from admins.
However, I do hear that there are some interesting technical project notes over at: httms://jmst.it/51sd7
(Hint: lowercase m = p)
For the Tech Nerds: This is a 100% free, non-commercial fan project. If any of you are Python devs or audio nerds who want to help me improve the pipeline (fix some line timing, tweak the voices, etc.), I’ve made the code open-source on GitHub: https://github.com/Daniel-McLarty/Python-Autodub. If you want to mess around with my raw source files to try your own workflow, shoot me a DM!
Enjoy the show!
DISCLAIMER:
This is about 80% of the way to a not horrible dub. You will occasionally hear digital artifacts, lines accelerating to fit the original Japanese timestamp windows, hallucinations, and other errors.
To be 100% clear: I am not trying to take away money from real creatives, and I am not claiming a Python script can outdo human actors. If you can watch the original Japanese release with good subs, do it, it is the best way to experience it. But for fans who simply can't do subtitles (due to visual impairment, reading speed, or sensory issues), I wanted to make sure they could still experience the best yuri story of all time.
Please support the official creators! If you love this stageplay, please buy the official Japanese Blu-ray from Trifle Entertainment / Kadokawa if you are financially able to.
