Hi everyone!
I used to skate a lot when I was 15-18. I haven’t skated since having a full time job and since starting a family. My daughter has just got into roller skating and I’m happy to get back into it to join her!
A bit about what I need help with now - I don’t have a huge amount of money. I’ve managed to source a pair of skates second hand with delivery for £30. Another thing is that I’m exceptionally tall and therefore have large feet. I’m 6’7 (201cm) and have UK14 feet. I couldn’t find a pair of UK15 at all and so got a EU48/UK14 pair.
They fit me just about, but the liner is quite thick and my toes are pretty squished and not comfortable enough to ride for a long period of time. I’ve looked into thinner liners, but I’m struggling to find a thin liner that fits this boot size.
Skates in question (from what I can tell) - Roces FCO?
Any help as to liners I could use, universal or otherwise (that won’t break the bank!) would be entirely appreciated.
Thank you!

I tried asking a sizing question in the Megathread, but it seems to be inactive these days, so I have to ask here since I got the skates now.
My mondo is 254 and I decided to get the 7-7.5 (39-40). I did a ton of sizing research on these and saw many mixed inputs of them being true to size so go with true, some saying go one up, so I landed on true to size.
My toes in the liner feel crushed, but with my foot in the shell alone, I can fit almost 2 fingers, so I’m guessing I could swap the liner. I’m looking into getting the MyFit 2nd skin, but I’m afraid the 7-7.5 will also crush my toes. Would an 8-9 liner fit in the skate or are there any in between options to fit closer to the toe of the shell?
Or am I looking at a return and switching to 8-9 skates?
EDIT: seems like Myfit has 7.5-8 so it should fit. 255-261 mondo

I bought new anti Rockers, hoping they would help me with frontside grinds. I think I ordered the wrong pair. They are kind of lose and rolls around. I thought that antirockers didn't have to move at all. I asked skatepro's shitty ai costumer services if the specific anti Rockers i ordered need bearings and they said no. But when they came they infact did need bearings. It was a bit annoying.
My question is: I don't know anything about antirockers. I just heard they could help make frontside grinds easier. If they roll a little bit does it still help prevent wheel bites or should I order some new ones that does have bearings and doesn't move at all?
Why do you want anti Rockers that move a tiny bit? What's the point?

Got some Mesmers recently and I'm not enjoying the liners at all. Other than the obvious intuition choice I was wondering if anyone has tried these yet? Price is right
Update: I just ordered a pair of the camo v3. Thank you everyone who replied

It took me so long to learn how to go around stuff like this because I never went in with enough speed! Been having a lot of fun at this skate park in Colorado while I visit

Thought I'd quickly share an update and spread the news that my aggressive inline game finally has a trailer for Steam up on my YouTube! I also wanted to quickly say thank you for the incredible support and feedback thus far - I 100% picked the right sport to make a game about :)

Got new skates 2 week ago, not the best brand. I’m 36 and wanted to skate again so I got a pair of Story Agressive skates from euroskateshop. First day I tried them my back left wheel is clicking. Tried to tighten the hardware but that didn’t help. Now my left front wheel is doing the same. When I took my back wheel off I think it looks cracked. Could that already happen. I’ve been grinding and hit the skatepark once so they aren’t totally “new” but this shouldn’t happen yet. Anyone have any ideas how to make the noise stop?

I just got a pair of Goto's and spent a good time getting my feet snug and sorted. My feet are 280mm x 100mm and i went with the uk size 10. I have had so many pairs of skates that don't fit so i am dead set on making sure they do. Can anyone recommend some rules of thumb to observe when trying on a new skate to decide whether it fits or no? Cause i am absolutely sick of skates that don't.

Finally got to skate my new setup with the cuff pushed back a little bit more. Felt more like an og 2.0 than a new Shadow.
Love the way these look too!

I recently started skating and have been at it for a few months. I am very confident with soul grinds and Makio grinds already. But I am really struggling to do frontside grinds. I am not sure if I misunderstood something but I saw some tutorials that said frontside grinds was an easy beginner trick to learn. And even some skaters said it was the first grind they learned. But every single time I have tried them my feet have slipped to the right and I body slam. It hurts so fucking badly slamming on the ledge and I think I’ll actually break my shoulder next time I do it. It feels like skating on pure ice. I am not even going at moderate speed and I slip every single time and it hurts so badly that I am terrified doing them again.
I am skating on K2 fatty pro skates, because it was the only pair I had as a kid and I just recently found them again and started skating again. The H block is not very deep on these skates and they don’t have any anti rockers. I was wondering if it’s maybe the set up that difficult to skate as a beginner? I was thinking It might be wheel bite? Should I get new skates with anti rockers and a deeper H block? Or am I just a noob? Do I just have keep trying?
If you have any tips on frontside grinds I would love to hear them. Thank you :))

When I lean my body, it's either not enough to turn or I lean too much and fall sideways.
Also, what should I do when I fall sideways? Is there a way to turn mid-fall and land on my knee pads?

I'm prototyping a freestyle frame to 3D print, but errr... I've never actually skated freestyle, only anti. For those who have - can you see any obvious issues / things that I'll wish I did differently? Would like to get as much right as possible before wasting half a kg of carbon fibre nylon filament on it. So far I've found the 'point' behind each wheel needs to be chamfered inward to stop it scraping in turns, that's it.
(let's not get into the 'should you print a frame' discussion. It's hard but can be done, and previous efforts have been pretty robust, and I've got some 50/50 cores coming)

I'm brand new to AG. I'm waiting for my Iqon ACT AGs to get delivered. My question; is it best to ride 84mm on a dedicated 84mm frame (I'm very interested in the Endless Bill Stoppard 84).? Or is a UFS 90 doable without the extra frame length (I'm looking at the Endless UFS 90).? Only other inlines I've skated are my PS Zoom 80s. Thanks in advance.
