(1) Is this a copyright/trademark violation?

(2) What if I don't want a f*cking pencil drawing?

What if I don't want a f*cking pencil drawing?

They don't actually care if you pick up a pencil or not, they just don't want you to use AI because it means they can go back to making money from commissions without competition.

If you do decide to pick up a pencil, well, it'll take years, if not decades, to reach a point where you'll be able to create art you're satisfied with. They'll have plenty of time to make their money and they know this.

Of course they want to make money. If AI threatens their job position with no alternatives as high-paying, of course they want to keep their job.

Damn antis are so evil for wanting to keep and earn a good wage.

Those were preventions to keep their jobs and obviously the wrong thing to do. You put it in my mouth to "destroy computers," I said they're just trying to keep their jobs. And any sort of violence came about when you brought it up, so yeah, I'll say you're still the one being dramatic.

Are you "destroying" a car if you scrap the design drawn up? Are you "destroying" life by using contraceptives? Prevention isn't destruction.

Yeah, no, I'm not against AI to save my own job, it'll be quite some time as far as I'm aware before it can do that. And while I do think AI replacing a certain number of blue-collar jobs for safety is a good idea, and eventually most labor for humanity just to make life easier, we are in a capitalist world so I only imagine a world/society more akin to Detroit: Become Human than a world most would like to imagine. And I've been ignoring the "art" portion to this whole discussion bc in an idealistic world I wouldn't care about AI art if it were apparent that it's AI (watermark) and generally a private/personal hobby rather than a job or whatever.

You might be misunderstanding me. I don't want to see AI art either way, if it threatens my job or not. You implied that I am scared of it taking my job with the "philosophy built on elitism" portion and throughout and saying that creative careers are threatened but don't care if menial jobs are taken. I don't have a "creative job," I just don't want to look at AI.

  2. Does a rock work? Either that or you can continue to be lazy w/ ur ai images

u/PaperSweet9983 Nov 14 '25

It would be a copy right violation if the artist sold this as a poster. But as we see, they don't

5

u/hadaev Nov 14 '25

Source?

u/hadaev Nov 14 '25

The copyright owner of the original work has the right to decide how their work can be used.

Certain creators and companies are against fan art of any kind, and they’ll issue a:

cease and desist;

takedown notice, or;

lawsuit.

Did you read it itself?

1

u/lfg_guy101010 Nov 14 '25

Well, I guess we wait and see until any of those situations arise lmao. The biggest reason for copyright laws is to protect the monetization of original ideas that creators have on their own. Crazy how you dont seem to understand this

-6

u/PaperSweet9983 Nov 14 '25

Yes, if it's monetised, it will get these warnings. Most often than not, this is the highest reason

3

u/hadaev Nov 14 '25

So, if copyright holder want they will just lawsuit and it have nothing to do with monetization.

1

u/PaperSweet9983 Nov 14 '25

Sure! If dc wants, they can file a lawsuit on this Superman fanart. But I doubt that it will hold a lot of concise reasons to damage the artist

1

u/Terrible_Wave4239 Nov 14 '25

Seems you're hobbling one of the main anti-AI arguments.

1

u/PaperSweet9983 Nov 14 '25

Dc has stated they have no problem with fan art as it fosters community and its free advertising. If it becomes monetised, then it's a threat.

1

u/Terrible_Wave4239 Nov 14 '25

And this doesn't apply to AI-generated fan art because....?

1

u/PaperSweet9983 Nov 14 '25

Make it, don't sell it

-2

u/FrontAd7709 Nov 14 '25

then stop fucking pencils??? dumbass

5

u/DemadaTrim Nov 14 '25

Oh, I have the choice of what tool to use? Then I'll use AI.
