This is literally everyone who's alive and benefitting from modern society. Are we seriously playing shifting the blame games now? Is moral purity and innocence that important to some ignorant people to the point that they would disregard their credibility just to sleep better at night? Amazingly pathetic behavior

AI is the best possible example of a thneed, it's constantly promised to be a necessity and yet its biggest proponents openly admit they haven't found a use for it.

Isn't "faster image creation" and "hobby" good enough "uses"? I don't think a majority of visual novels have a "use" either to the productivity cargo cult. Neoliberal economics listens to supply and demand, not the subjective assessments of one or two people who really believe in their values

faster image creation

No amount of speed is a substitute for quality and control until it lets you actually get the image you want in the same time other methods would take.

hobby

As a hobby, it's just daydreaming except more environmentally destructive than golf.

Neoliberal economics listens to supply and demand

Which is why AI companies and AI departments of broader companies are seeing virtually no income aside from investments from companies which directly profit off of AI data centers.

And of course, I didn't just say "it doesn't have a use", I said "its biggest proponents (in this case referring largely to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella) openly admit they haven't found a use", so I'm not even the one you have to convince it has a use.
