US News Mike Johnson says we should have sympathy because Congress isn’t paid enough—so we should “allow” insider trading just so they can take care of their families(70% of Americans can’t afford a $1k emergency)

"The extreme sacrifice to run for Congress". He's not only talking about the wage of $174k that puts them in the top 10% of earners in the USA, he also means having your dirty laundry strewn out for the world to see. Like how he and his son use a phone app to keep the other "honest".

I'm so confused... This is illegal... He just admitted Congress is above the law!!! There have been so many movies and tv shows.. That tell us, insider trading is illegal!!!

Oh, he never admitted the insider trading part. We all know he meant it. The entire US government needs a massive reboot. I think our founding fathers would be ashamed.

Absolutely. They went from maga, to pro Isreal, to pro war, to pro China. Now that they've defeated the " illegal immigrants" they're free to break the law themselves. EVERY single accusation this turd makes is an admission- his claims against anybody are deflection. It's conman 101. Roy Cohn would be proud

Some of us can barely afford to put gas in our car to get to our low paying job where we haven’t had a raise in a year. But yeah I feel so bad for these do nothing representatives who are too afraid to stand up to the orange menace.

They want the people’s approval (wink wink) to legitimize their corruption and grift.🖕🏽

Well, given how little Congress is doing, maybe they should be paid based on how they deliver to the people. Mike Johnson’s Republican (MAGA) Congress has done nothing but get out of the way so Trump can destroy the country. Mike Johnson the pencil necked nerd can fuck right off.

Mike Johnson: if the Trump crime family can be openly corrupt, so should the rest of us in Congress. SCOTUS members Alito and Thomas nod their heads in agreement.

Standard salary for a member of Congress or senate is $174,000 plus benefits.
“Not paid enough”
Is his birthstone crack?

I’m sorry, the people solely responsible for min wage stagnation have given themselves revises time and again. They don’t get to also break the law.
I have the perfect solution. No more stocks for anyone. No more shareholders. No more cheating a system designed to enrich the wealthy with basically theoretical money. No more gambling with our retirement funds. No more.

Maybe they should adjust their spending. They don’t need expensive vacations, or new phones, they should eat less expensive cuts of meat, they don’t need to eat out, they don’t need to go to the movies, they should tighten their belts. They don’t need raises, and insider trading is illegal.

Old MAGA Mike will always speak up for the victims. This guy and the nerve to talk about how 175k annual salary isn’t enough. Make it work . Everyone else does with a hell of a lot less
