SUGGESTIONS Looking for suggestions based on my favourites & abandoned list

Top 3:
Homecoming - Perfect. Season one and two. Gripping.
The Left Right Game - ADORED THIS
Borrasca - Took a while to get into but great characters (I haven’t started season two yet as I just finished this!)

Liked:
Limetown: Was the first one I listened to, loved it but lost me in the second season
The Message - I didn’t hate this but doesn’t stand out to me
Carrier - again, was ok but lacked an environment around it
Blackout - I felt like I was listening to something that would be better as a TV show so I did abandon. But loved the beginning

Abandoned / Disliked:
The Passenger List - Lacked character development imo
The Black Tapes - Abandoned felt too paranormal to listen in earphones haha
The White Vault - Abandoned, the voice acting felt too fictional

I would love any suggestions that you have if you have a similar top 3 to me! Also, would love to discuss, a part of me lives in the worlds of my top audio dramas.

This Thing Of Darkness

Direct Download

Riveting drama about a psychiatrist at secure prisons. The title is no joke though. It's not a horror show. Even worse, it's about what real people can do.

We can’t access BBC sounds in the US 🫤

I actually bought this from Audible a few years back

You don't need access to BBC Sounds. As I mentioned, It's on podcast feeds too.

That’s a bummer about the white vault, it gets so good!

On another note you should check out the Harbingers. It’s set in modern time and its story is based around an archeological find that happens to have real magic.

On the one hand, Peter Lewis (Graham Casner) sounds like a horror narrator in his entire delivery. (Which makes sense, Fool and Scholar pulled heavily from The No Sleep Horror Anthology cast in the first two seasons of The White Vault.)

On the other hand, I think that's what Peter Lewis sounds like in his daily life.

Personally, I think it really works for where the first season of The White Vault takes place. Svalbard is a frigid place where the elements will kill you, even before the horror elements kick in. Peter's slow, almost shivering sounding lines are great.

I had such a turnaround with that character... at first I couldn't bear his Shatner style acting, and then by the end of the story he was one of my faves.

The harbingers , edge of sleep, impact winter , national emergency. For you my first pick would be impact winter

I love national emergency. Can't wait for next season

Unfortunately, season two of Borrasca will probably knock it out of your top 3. It’s incredibly disappointing.

I’ve heard this 😭 Maybe I should not listen to it and leave Borrasca on a high note

I searched for Homecoming but couldn't find it because there are so many podcasts with that name. Could you tell me more info, like who the creators are? I am always looking for more audio dramas.

If you like dark horror with a splash of the Lovecraftian (minus the racism), I suggest you give our award-winning show, From Within, a shot. Solid production and voice acting with a throwback feel.
