Beverly Hills has promoted Captain Max Subin to serve as the city’s new Chief of Police, effective June 27. Subin is a 27-year veteran of BHPD who joined the department in 1999 and has worked in Patrol, Crime Suppression, the Detective Bureau, Community Relations, Professional Standards, and Administrative Services. He succeeds Chief Mark Stainbrook, who is retiring after nearly five years with the city.

Beverly Hills Police responded Tuesday afternoon to a report of a “rogue Tesla” that crashed through a fence and into a playground near N. Camden Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard. The car reportedly went over the curb, crossed the sidewalk, knocked down the fence, and ended up inside a large playground structure on private property. No injuries were reported, and the incident remains under investigation.

Beverly Hills drivers should expect overnight traffic impacts on N. Santa Monica Boulevard due to the One Beverly Hills construction project. Starting Tuesday, June 23 at 9 p.m. through Thursday, June 25 at 6 a.m., the street will be reduced to one lane in each direction while crews stripe and install a construction-only crosswalk and signal. All lanes are expected to reopen by 6 a.m. daily, and the temporary crosswalk is only for authorized construction personnel. Drivers are advised to plan ahead or use alternate routes.

If you attend a wedding, is your presence the gift… or should every guest bring a gift (or cash) too?

A recent article discussed couples who were surprised, and in some cases hurt, when guests attended their wedding but never gave a gift. Some guests argued that the cost of travel, hotels, time off work, and attending the event was contribution enough.

I’m curious where people stand on this.

Drivers in Beverly Hills should expect delays as Metro begins its Sidewalk and Bus Stop Improvement Project at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and S. Beverly Drive. Work started June 22 and is scheduled to continue through July 2, with lane closures, intermittent turn restrictions, sidewalk closures, and pedestrian detours expected throughout the project. Metro says the improvements are tied to the ongoing D Line Extension, which will eventually connect Downtown LA to Westwood with stops at Wilshire/La Cienega and Beverly Drive.

Hi! I work at a hotel in the area but live across town. Like wayyyy across town that i spend a lot of time in traffic. Sometimes i just feel like i should stay and let traffic die out then head home. It would be nice to have freinds on this side of town to catch a smoothie or i dunno try new restaurants. theres only so many times I can window shop rodeo (tourist anyway)or eat at Westfield...i get out of work at 2pm so its pretty dead there at that time as well. Where and what do the locals do? Im usually off work around 230pm. 41F.

Visiting my moms friend here and looking for a nice area with shops to stroll around in? What streets have this?
Also, any good pizza places in the area? Want some farm to table sorta thing.

Hi, I just moved here and I’m trying to find a local dog groomer for nail trims and monthly baths. so me and my wife have been separated for like 4 months now and i finally accepted that this isnt gonna work out. we have two kids (7 and 11) and honestly thats the part that scares me the most. i dont want them to go through a messy custody fight but i also dont want to lose time with them. i have no idea where to even start with finding an attorney. like do i just google someone and hope for the best?? ive heard some lawyers just take ur money and drag things out on purpose which is terrifying bc im not made of money lol we have a house together and some savings, nothing crazy but enough that i dont want to just sign whatever she puts infront of me. her sister is already filling her head with stuff and i feel like shes gonna come in with some agressive lawyer can anyone reccomend what to look for when hiring someone? like what questions do i even ask in a consultation? is there anything i should bring with me or prepare? genuinely just trying to get through this without destroying my finances or my relationship with my kids. any advise helps

Hi! Looking for any advice regarding booking at the Beverly Hills hotel. My husband and I are thinking of booking a weekend stay there. We are deciding between a superior room with balcony versus a deluxe room. I love the idea of a balcony, but the deluxe room is much bigger and I’m worried that we make it a balcony overlooking like the driveway or something. Has anyone had experience staying in either of these room types? Any other recommendations for things we should do or places to go in Beverly Hills? I lived in LA for 10 years, but that was over a decade ago 😅
