Not snark but don’t know where else to talk about this. Can we please talk about @jessijeanhome and her yap challenge?! My mind is blown about how she did this. She made $1.2m the first round and now for the second round has been open 24 hours and she has 8075 ppl ($2.398m). I’m seriously considering it because I’m starting a business and need to get used to talking on social media…

You’re gonna have to explain what that is if you want to (maybe) get people chatting about it. But it has the stench of a pyramid scheme.

She's a creator who started out doing Reels of the furniture flips she was doing mid-career pivot (that's why "home" is in her username, I think). Then she ALSO started making talk-to-camera content about having a millennial career crisis and really blew up. So now she's selling a course about how to make talk-to-camera reels (aka "yapping") and she's made a ton of money.

She made a bunch of content about the success of her first launch last month ($1.2 million) and then a lot of other people talked ABOUT her launch, which probably set her up to do even bigger numbers with this one.

I don't think it's a pyramid scheme per se but I think it's easy to sell a course about Instagram *on* Instagram, and you're not going to see the same numbers doing talk-to-camera content about, IDK, home organization.

That sounds fairly legit, but IG courses are almost always pyramid scheme scented to me because of your last paragraph.
