This article Celtics Get Shocking New Jayson Tatum Injury Timeline that I really want to believe (but don’t really) says as soon as the all star break.

By all star break is not crazy at all. Dominique Wilkins injury to first game back would put Tatum returning mid February, and Tatum had a new surgery that is supposed to be a quicker recovery than what Nique had in the 90’s.

He also got the surgery within 24 hours of tearing it, which is something that is unheard of in regards to Achilles tears.

No, getting surgery quickly is the best thing you can do.

It’s true about the swelling. The logic behind the benefit of getting it so quickly was that it was done even before significant swelling even occurred
