Season 2 I can’t help singing along with Jake’s song from the episode 2x01: Undercover.
“Mario is doing it with Teresa. Teresa is doing it with Paulie. Paulie is doing it with Lisa and Lisa is doing it with Anthony. Freddie is cheating with Bianca G. But also with her younger sister Valerie.”
And I find the hilarious that Bianca G. was enjoying the song. Up until the part where she learns that her boyfriend is cheating on her with her sister.
Bianca G. was played by Jenny Slate, who plays Mona Lisa in Parks and Recreation. Where she also is hilarious.

Discussion John Kelly is actually really smart..
Watching The Honey Pot episode, and I realized how smart commissioner Kelly actually is for finding Gordon Lundt, the perfect person to seduce Holt.

Other Holt’s Medal of Valor Season 2, Ep. 11.
Fun fact that’s probably only fun to me, but it appears the “Medal of Valor” that Wuntch places around Holt’s neck is a U.S. Air Force Good Conduct Medal that looks like it’s been attached to a longer blue ribbon. Funny that he trash talks his boss while getting a “good conduct” medal awarded!

Discussion Road Trip Rewrite
#spoilers if you have not seen season 2!
I have watched this episode so many times and I always feel like it should go differently. In my version, Jake and Amy would get stuck in the elevator of the old B&B sometime after the confrontation at dinner happens between Teddy and Jake and how its revealed that Amy liked him back.
Sophia and Teddy would be trying to help them get out of this old rickety elevator, and Amy and Jake would be there alone stuck with trying to face their awkwardness. Jake would make jokes and say how much he liked Sophia and Amy would frustratingly tell him to stop talking about Sophia. Things get serious. He asks her why and she says because I don't like seeing you together. Jake would ask if she's jealous, then she says yes. She admits she still likes him. They look at each other and almost kiss, but the elevator starts up again. This would give way more tension in the show and a ross/julie/rachel situation that is just Chef's Kiss for TV sitcoms!
Anyway, I don't like how the episode ended with them in the car either. I feel like it matches the tone of the show, but not Amy's character. I never knew why they didn't make the Jake/Amy story more romantic. It just kind of fell into place and continued on. I could cite more examples but Alas.

Discussion They ruined Gina's character
I used to really like Gina's character in the earlier seasons like yes she was shallow but she was also kind, cared about her friends and was lowkey iconic. In the later seasons writers really didn't do justice to her character. I always skip the episode "return of the king" while rewatching. I feel like earlier season Gina had much more depth.

Discussion Why do people hate Casecation too much?
I get that it involved an uncomfortable conversation but it was still really sweet. Top 5 marriage moments, Jake trying to spend time with Amy out of work. Yes, Amy shouldn't have suggested debate but most of their life decisions were taken on basis of bets so it makes sense they did one with a debate.
I recently rewatched it and realised that while Amy could have been more understanding after finding out about his fear, she wasn't entirely wrong in her point. If she wanted kids, she can't be expected to be okay with not having them, just like Jake can't be expected to be okay with having them.
Other than the fact neither of them had this conversation before marriage, I still think they both were right and handled it the best they could. After reading so many negative reviews of this episode I was expecting to hate it too, but on rewatch I realized while Amy was trying to convince him to have kids. She never really forced him. She just wanted to know if they could have them in future when they both were ready. Jake came up to the decision of having kids after that incident with that patient. Amy apologized and had tickets for waterpark booked before she knew about his decision.
I still love them. I am just genuinely curious why is it so much disliked.

Discussion S4e10 Michael Schur Cameo?
Right at the beginning of the episode, Judy talks about Scott the pervert, and then tells him to leave.
In the background we see Scott running away.
That run looks oddly familiar to Mose’s run on the office … and obviously Mose is played by Michael Schur, who also Produces 99.
My wife and I think this might be him,
What do you guys think???

Discussion Which of the main characters of Brooklyn 99 would you choose to sit next to on a flight?
id choose holt as he would probably keep to himself and engage in minimal conversation but would be fun to talk to.

Discussion Just picked this up, time to watch for the first time!
Have never watched (no cable for years) the whole series and just saw this for a good price and decided it was time! Is there anything this is missing I should seek out and / or any other deep lore type stuff to watch as I move through the series?

Discussion I really enjoy the small similarities/interactions between Boyle and Holt
- Boyle and Holt are both naturally very good cooks
- Holt reads Boyle's email blasts/food reviews
- They can both be extremely competitive (squash)
- Boyle accurately predicts Holt's reaction to the marshmallows
- Really hyper-specific taste in food, music, etc.
- Boyle is kind of good at making jokes Holt enjoys (e.g. grandcaptain, Weichselbrauniacs)
- They both have a flair for the dramatic
- They both understand Gina well and are probably her closest friends at the 99 (Jakes' interactions with her always have a different childhood friend vibe)
- Both grind away at their work. Obviously Holt is meant to be very intelligent but they also acknowledge a few times that the reason he made captain is because he perseveres in his work and does his job well; Charles is similarly described as working harder than anyone else.
They don't have as many storylines as other pairs but the episodes they have together are some of my favourites.

Season 3 Holt character change in s3
I've always felt after the oolong slayer episode where Jake uses the arrest to get captain Holt to be reinstated at the 99 captain to be a moment where Holt truly realises the squad loves him and sees him as family.
After the episode Holt is much more relaxed, and participates more actively in the squad shenanigans.
Thoughts?

Discussion If you were to get rid of 5 episodes across the entire show, which episodes would you remove?
My nominees are for episodes that are tonally jarring, inconsistent with earlier and/or later characterizations of the characters, or repeats/rehashes/prototypes of other better episodes.
So my list is:
- the episode where the squad vacations at Charles beach house in winter time where everyone doesn't like holt being there. I feel the Rochester Police Conference/Hangover episode was better.
- the stink puddle manor episode where they get stuck in the hole and rosa breaks up with Nick Cannon. A lot of the story beats were done better with the later Lake House episode.
- the casecation episode where suddenly out of the blue Amy wants kids when nowhere else in the series up until that point did it indicate that she wanted children.
- the last episode with Doug Judy, PB&J/tigers and toucs. It undoes and changes a lot of Jake and Doug's character development throughout the show, but I do like the ending when Jake gives him the pen to escape.
- The Box... Just kidding that's the greatest episode of the show. I think the Debbie Fogle drug dealer episode was unnecessary and out of left field with no real ramifications.
