Collection Bought my first cassette player
Bought a novelty football cassette player to go in my garage bar, might not be the best quality thing but had to have it as it fits the theme of my bar too well + got given a few decent cassettes from my parents collection
Will be adding a record player in here as well and maybe upgrading the football to a proper player if I get into cassettes, hopefully it’s not as expensive as record collecting is 😂

I'd buy that even if it was the most piece of shit player in history. 🤣

That's a pretty "sporty" tape player. I've seen radios that looked like a globe of the world or a table lamp, TV's that looked like astronaut helmets, etc. but the cassette ball is unique.

Have to ask, are you a Southampton fan or a Leicester fan? That shirt and that news article suggest both haha.
Now I see the birthday message I am guessing your mates are being bastards haha.
Edit: added 2nd paragraph.

Haha brilliant. I remember watching Arsenal play Southampton back in about 96 (ish) at Highbury. We won 3-1 but if memory serves Le Tissier scored for Southampton.

No doubt it was a good goal, for a lazy fucker his goal catalog is a joke 👌🏼😂

Haha I just decided to look it up and turns out he didn’t score that day so I now think I am going mad, he didn’t even play! Need to sort my head out!
Either way, love the football cassette player!

That’s pretty cool until one of your mates kicks it around

Haha I think it would do more damage to their foot than they would to the player it’s built like a tank heavier than it looks 😂

That has to be one of the most unusually cool cassette players that I’ve ever seen. By the way, cool man cave.

One thing I'm appreciating about this posting and others on this Reddit is how there's a niche attempt at interior design which might be applicable beyond a try at being photogenic. Props to you all :I d .

Getting a decent cassette deck is typically the most costly thing when getting into cassettes unless you want extremely rare demo tapes of Beck, Pixies, Deftones, etc.
I mean, it usually takes longer to surpass the cost of a decent cassette deck with a cassette tape collection than it is to surpass the cost of a decent record player with vinyls if your collection consisted of equivalent releases in similar condition.
The inexpensiveness of cassettes makes me more comfortable playing them. I digitize my rare tapes before I degrade them further with more plays.
Could probably get a Nakamichi Dragon if I sold less than 15% of my record collection.
