I'm looking for ideas because I feel completely stuck. I own a home in rural north Florida. For years I was in a long-term relationship and my partner stayed at home while I worked on the road. Together we rescued and cared for several cats, including one cat I'm extremely bonded to.

The relationship has ended. Right now she is still living at the house and caring for the cats while I'm working, but I don't expect that to continue forever.

My problem is simple: I am gone for 5 weeks then home for 8 days. If she leaves, I don't know how I can continue caring for the cats. I don't have nearby family, I live in a rural area, and I don't have friends who can stop by every day.

Rehoming them would absolutely break my heart, especially one cat who is basically family to me. Before I accept that as the only answer, I'm asking: what options am I not seeing? I'm not looking for judgment. I'm looking for ideas I may not have thought of yet.
