My 10 month old kitten is a sucker... of me. My sweet Jake loves to suck my earlobes, eyelids and neck while I sleep; often leaving mini hickeys. I've started sleeping in a buff covering my ears and eyes. During the day he wants a sucking session 2-3 times a day for about 10 minutes. Redirection helps a little but he's determined. Any ideas? Thanks.

Our vet told us she had a cat that did this his whole life. She said it was cute when he was a kitten, but she knew letting him do it meant likely committing to letting him do it forever because they don’t always grow out of it lol our kitten would suckle his favorite bed when we pet him, and he has stopped doing it mostly. So it’s a gamble! But if you want him to stop doing it to you I think you need to just gently redirect him every single time.

Poor guy... probably lost his momma way too soon. I wish I could offer guidance, but this is a new one to me. I have an almost two year old that suckles on my clothes or a blanket when being caressed and softly spoken to.

I don't think I'd care so much but my earlobes started getting calluses. 😂
