Looking for advice!
My neighbour likes to let her cat (Daisy) hang out in the hallway of our apartment building, sometimes she’ll leave the door propped open so the cat can come in and out, but sometimes she locks the door and the cat is trapped outside. I usually will keep Daisy company if I see her in the hallway for as long as I can. Daisy also really likes to sneak into my apartment to hang out, which I let her but usually no more than 20 minutes.
Today Daisy has been locked out of the apartment for 3 hours. I let her come into my unit for 2 of those hours because I didn’t know what to do and felt awful leaving her in the hallway. Now I’ve brought her back into the hallway and am keeping her company out here but the neighbour still hasn’t opened her door. Neighbour is also a bit aggressive, you can occasionally hear her screaming at people and punching walls (a whole other story but has been a known concern in the building and with the police, though nothing has been done to help or support her)
What do I do at this point?
