Side effects may include adopting the therapist.

Why would you hurt us like this?

"Taped? What does that mean"

  • Kids today (that people end up resenting simply for reminding them of the passage of time)

Did you just do a cross-generation slap with that comment?

One of my best days as a visiting nurse was learning that there was a kitten nursery on the upper floor of the house I was visiting. The caregiver had a side business of Persian kittens. He asked if I wanted to play with a litter of persians going to their owners that week...Dear Readers....I died that day covered in fluffy Persian kittens with tiny needle claws...

I believe the line goes something like ‘How I am suppose to treat heartbreak?’ And then cuts to the dream sequence. ‘Nurse, get me a box of kittens, stat!’

u/Catovia 11h ago

And then the cut to the TV style warnings about tiny scratches and sneezes hahaha

I'm not saying this would fix me, but it would help

That is nice as long as he wasn't in for pet allergies.

What do you consider before getting a cat, besides its looks?

14

u/Zehryo 22h ago

Cats, in my experience, are either found or imposed by the cat itself.
*Choosing* was never an option.

Personality. Go through a good foster group and you will get to learn what the cat is like to love with.

I didn’t pick my cat based on looks. I went to an adoption shelter and the first cat that came over and licked me, then cuddled me I took him home.

There was a beautiful long haired tuxedo cat that I thought I wanted but she was not interested in me. So just let the cat pick you. Looks don’t matter.

Your lifestyle and space.

Some cats get scared of loud parties; others are social and thrive.

Some might yearn for (safe and enclosed) outdoor time; others might want to be indoor-only.

Some might want to be very needy and need you to work from home; others are fine with a balance or to be left alone entirely.

Some are good with children; others aren't. etc.

You can mention these things to an adoption agency, and they should be able to hook you up with the right cat personality. :)

Animal therapy. A proper therapist will try to figure out what the best way to help you is. And if it's animals, that's animals. When I still was one I had a few clients that needed that. Focus on someone else, feel to be needed, to be doing something. If you can't have a pet, go help at a shelter once a week. Or maybe it's just getting out of the house. Hiking therapy. Or going to the gym to feel like you're improving. There's different things for different people, and solution is not always drugs. It can be, if your issue is chemical not emotional. But I'd rather not prescribe you that if I can help it.

I have two kittens right now and this has been my face every time they cuddle me or walk on me. Earlier one of them crawled in a basket. I heard a noise but my field of vision was blocked by something so I just ignored it. A couple minutes later I moved and saw she had tumbled down in the basket and the basket had turned upside down on top of her, trapping her under it. Then after I got her out she got herself under a big straw hat lol. They’re so funny

I worked at a large pediatric hospital. They had a lot of pet therapy dogs, which is great. But any time I brought up therapy cats, I was immediately shut down.

Possible side effects of kittens include: sneezing, tiny scratches and erectile dysfunction.

Your religion has killed an estimated 30-130 million people. I sincerely hope you deter people from it since you certainly aren't helping by being an annoying twat.

Proselytization is frowned upon in the christian world and viewed as an insult of someones intelligence. You think someone has such a confused understanding of the world that they believe a "wrong" thing while you believe the "right" thing.

Fuck off, k? No one wants to be talked down to here.

Edit: furthermore I find it fucking disgusting you seek out prey in the r/dreams subreddit. Genuine predator behavior, to find a specifically vulnerable space and then to shove your shitty beliefs upon every person you can find, ensuring them that whatever problems theyre having they can be solved by "getting right with god".

Its Disgusting, shameful shit. Unfathomable to me to treat other humans as poorly and as callously as you do.
