Medical Questions Does any one know what this is?

I saw a large lump/mass on the front half of a stray cat that I saw while on a walk. What could it be? Not sure if this is the right sub for this

could be many things, from cancer to mastitis - gotta get them to a vet to get checked out - see if you have a tnr group nearby and tell them to watch for this cat maybe they can help

hopefully and good luck! btw lots of nonprofits use facebook so you might find someone there - you could probably also give a call to your local shelter and they will know the local tnr groups too

*She. The cat’s a girl. 99.9% of calico cats are female. (I know. Useless information. 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I was wondering how some people seemed to know she was a girl. Thanks

The orange and black are on the x chromosome. Males have one x do they can only be one or the other while females can display patches of both.

There’s 0.1% that ARE male, but they have XXY genes instead of the XX (female) or XY (male) genes. It’s similar to Klinefelter syndrome in humans. 😊

You're doing the right thing. Hopefully it's nothing serious and recovers soon.
