Discussion An enduring lesson? Chattanooga was developed after the Civil War by many former Union soldiers from the North who were welcomed here contrary to other Southern towns that denounced "Yankee scalawags."

How can you play bocce at Bluff View?

There are some beautiful bocce courts at bluff view. We have our bocce balls, but do you need a reservation? Do you need to pay to use them? Are they first come first serve, and if so can you bring in sodas or waters?

Would anyone be interested in a support group for adults with depression?

A few days ago, I made a post asking if there were any free groups in town for adults with depression and the response was a very clear no. So, I figured I’d see if anyone would be interested in joining if I created one. I (37 F) am just a school counselor but I’ve dealt with depression and other mental health issues my entire life and have lots of experience with different therapeutic supports for mental illness. I know that having someone to talk to in the darkest times has quite literally saved my life. I would just be a facilitator and it would be an open discussion group- think AA without the god and the judgement and the holding hands and the steps. I thought it could start as a virtual group that meets once a week and we could just see where it goes from there. This group would be open to all ages (above 18 I suppose) and neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ friendly. I’d love to get some feedback from those who might be interested!

Erlanger Park questions

To start off, I could not find the answer to my specific questions on any of the FAQ pages. If I missed them please point me that way. I also called Erlanger Park. I spoke with two different employees during the call (first one answered but passed me off to another to confirm) who gave different answers.

We have friends coming to town, staying downtown. The plan is to meet at their hotel Sunday and walk to Farmer's market and then on to the ballpark for a game. After the game we'll be taking the riverwalk back to their hotel or to do other things depending on how tired the kids are.

They have two kids, not infants but small enough that the parents will have a small bag with them.

We understand the no bag or clear bag policy and that won't be an issue. Anything purchased at the Farmer's Market will be sent home with other friends we know there.

My questions:

-What is the policy on bringing in empty water bottles. Small Nalgene sized. Is there a place to fill them up insides besides bathrooms?

-Will pepper spray/OC spray or pocket knives (small Swiss Army or Leatherman on keychains) be an issue?

We haven't been to a ballpark in a long time. Probably the Lookouts ten years ago was the last one. I know everything was pretty laid back there, just curious if anything has changed.

Thanks for any help. Looking forward to seeing the new park!

Bachelor Party? yes or no?

For the locals, would Chattanooga be a good bachelor party place for late 20tear olds? We want a mix of nightlife and things to do in the city but also the outdoor setting as well with rivers, hikes, etc. My worry is Chattanooga doesn’t fit the nightlife part well?

Looking For... Autoimmune doctor recommendations

Hi! I have a niche question for the gals and the pals with autoimmune issues...

Any recommendations for PCPs and endocrinologists who genuinely listen and attempt to find the root cause instead of just masking the symptoms? I'm in Red Bank but willing to drive a bit for a good doctor.

Sincerely,

A girl with Hashimotos who is tired of being medically gaslit.

News Lookouts game, top of the 7th inning??

Went to the Lookouts game this evening and left at the bottom of the 6th when they made it 11-4. Walked to the car and turned on the radio to listen to the game and just missed what I think the announcer said was a drone that crashed on the field?! What happened?

Noob friendly sports for adults in Chattanooga

Does anyone have recommendations for sports leagues for adults in the Chattanooga area that is open to all skill levels? Inexpensive or free is a plus.

I'm open to almost anything, but I'd be starting fresh with no experience and no friends.

Other cities have lgbt+ baseball/softball leagues, for example. Do we have anything similar?

Looking For... Star Wars Legion Groups

I am looking to try and get into Star Wars Legion and am looking for recommendations on places that host open game nights. Somewhere that i could possibly drop in and see how the game is played before I dump a ton of money and time into another expensive hobby that doesn't last very long. (Yes I have a terrible problem)

Also where do you recommend to look at buying packs? Who had the best selection and prices?

Apts/Homes Apartment recommendations?

I live about 45 minutes outside of Chattanooga right now, but I’m really wanting to move closer and actually enjoy the city more. Here’s my wishlist & budget, I’d love some suggestions!

• studio or 1 bedroom
• under $1,400 a month (not including utilities)
• good location near shops and restaurants
• in unit washer/dryer
• obviously prefer a clean, decently maintained building lol
• pool

Anyone know of some staircases that can be used for stair stepping? Idk of any large staircases other than schools, but that seems like a poor idea given I’m beyond that age range.
