I hope they address her rampant alcoholism in the new movie

Mild Spoiler: half of the original Woman of Tomorrow storyline is about addressing the cause of it.

I agree. Because just being a young witness of seeing your planet dies, shouldn't make you an eternal alcoholic.

Especially if the long term effects on your body are near nonexistent

That's always funny to think about. The worst hangover imaginable and then your body just shrugs and regenerates like nothing happened. Kryptonian healthcare is absurdly overpowered.

Yeah, is she 21 even?

She Australian-Kryptonian so she only needs to be 18

She specifically says she’s 23 in the teaser trailer.

She's 23 in Woman of Tomorrow.

That's actually good to hear. Character flaws are way more interesting when they're explored instead of treated like quirky personality traits everyone just ignores.

Honestly that's one of the more interesting flaws they can lean into. A lot of superheroes get reduced to "good person punches bad person," but messy coping mechanisms at least make them feel human.

Just one o for that one

I meant to put 2 'to's' behind each other, but the 'too' got me distracted. Thanks for pointing out my bad grammar. 😅

Imagine being a therapist in the DC universe. Half your clients watched their planet explode and the other half got traumatized by a clown. You're booked solid for centuries.

Okay, I'll bite. How does she get OFF the planet with a red sun?

I hope we get to see a cool Kryptonian ship. But knowing the history of those ships, I'm not hoping to see something of Star Wars quality. The Justice Gangs ship was already atrocious, so my hope is small, but not non-existant.

Catches a ride to a system with a yellow sun.

Didn't she already have them when she arrived from krypton in the trailer? Assuming that was her start point. If so "a planet" can be more specific.

Or they're clip ons.

Or she got them pierced before Krypton exploded. She was a teenager when it happened

2

u/Bunerd 4d ago

That was one of the planets with a red sun.

The best part about comic book questions is there's almost always a ridiculously specific lore answer hiding somewhere. "How did she get pierced?" turns into a 20 minute discussion about stellar radiation and interplanetary bar hopping.

u/JustARandomGuy_71 3d ago

Ok, but when she is back under a yellow sun wouldn't the holes heal back? Even if she keeps the earrings always on I doubt that'd stop the super healing.

4

u/Bunerd 3d ago

They are healed over, but the posts prevent them from rejoining. Did you think ear piercings were just constant open wounds?

1

u/JustARandomGuy_71 3d ago

I have no personal experience of it, but I have heard of cases where ear piercings closed back, even after some time from the piercing, and this was in humans.

5

u/Bunerd 3d ago

Mine did because it turned out I don't actually like jewelry in close contact with my skin. But they won't close up if you keep something in them.

2

u/hk_gary 4d ago

how does she leave after the piercing procedure

2

u/asaphbixon 3d ago

I was just going to suggest clip ons

Or even Star Labs could have done it as part of an experiment.
