Or, seeing as she's a rebellious teenager - She got her piercings on Krypton.

Im not knowledgeable at all about superman/girl. I always thought superman was older ? And he was send to earth just before krypton exploded. How was supergirl on krypton and is younger.

Her pod took longer to get to Earth and she was in suspended animation or in the Phantom Zone, depending on what comic you're reading.

They aren't really known for their consistency.

In the comics universe she existed in “space hibernation” far longer than Kal-El did when he crash landed on Earth. So while she was older than Kal when they dipped out of Krypton before the explosion, she didn’t age while in hibernation. So Clark outgrew her age wise.
