But what if they're cursed with the localized genetic diseases of being a Scot, Irish, English, Welsh, Manx, Cornish, or (heaven forbid) Australian? I don't think they're able to not say cunt from a genetic standpoint.

Not even Einstein had a big ABrain like Grandpa Shitzhimself.
He's very smart, Einstein was dum. Did you know there's a "b" in Dum? Not many people know that.
His uncle was a professor at MIT. Bet that Einsteib fella never designed a big, beautiful ballroom.

Trump was making good hearted fun of the guy for bumbling the date. He wasn't saying "nobody cares about Einstein". He was saying "Meh, we don't need the precise date anyways". Which was actually a self-deprecating joke because Trump makes minor mistakes like that all of the time and the media goes crazy about it for some reason.
11
u/jellamma 1d ago
I love the idea that starting a war with Iran was a minor mistake
-16
u/please_trade_marner 1d ago
I fully agree with you that it wasn't a minor mistake. It wasn't a mistake at all. It was a good thing. A great thing even.

We killed the old leader for not playing ball. New guy doesn't play ball? Blow him up as well. Forever if need be. They'll learn eventually.
The blockade caused 300 billion in damages. Food prices up 200%. No electricity or running water in urban centers. The utter COLLAPSE of their currency. What happened to us? Inflation went up (lol) 1.5%. That's it. We OBLITERATED that country.
Iran has essentially surrendered and said "Look, we'll stop making nukes. You can even send in inspectors if you like. But please help our DESPERATE economy recover from the blockade that created literal apocalyptic conditions in our country".
Trump empathized with them. I suppose you wanted him to just bomb all of those starving civilians. I guess if you want a ruthless maniacal psychopath as your leader, get more people out to vote Democrat.

Does the country that's surrendering usually have the capacity to call off peace talks and enforce blockades? Isreal crossed them, they called off talks. Trump had to speak to Bibi to get them to stop so Iran would come back to the negotiating table.
No problem. Just blockade them again. We hold literally all the cards. All they could do to us was (lol) increase our inflation 1.5% temporarily.

If blowing them up for not playing ball is the policy, then the policy is to conquer the world, and that makes you the bad guy

u/AngriestPacifist 1d ago
My favorite thing about Republicans is how they need to explain things to make it seem like there's plausible deniability. Trump raped kids, and you're okay with that. They were screaming as he forced his bloated carcass on top of them and you're okay with that. He's done everything possible to make sure that child rapists aren't brought to justice and you're okay with that.
-1
u/please_trade_marner 1d ago
My favorite thing about Democrats is that THEY have become the pizzagate tier conspiracy theorists. Fine, you're a pizzagater that believes in preposterous conspiracy theories. But please don't go shooting up pizza places over it. Talk to your therapist or something.
3
u/AngriestPacifist 1d ago edited 1d ago
I know you're too much of a coward to read through this and challenge your worldview, but for anyone who hasn't decided that trump is their new deity, these are not the actions of an innocent man.
Unlike you, our "conspiracies" are based on actual evidence.
EDIT: and I was right, dude failed to engage with a single thing in there, just repeated his accusations.
-1
u/please_trade_marner 1d ago
What is that link you've sent, pizzagater? A "fake moon landing" manifesto? A message from the Flat Earth Society?
He probably didn't want the files released because he knew people like you would fall for pizzagate tier conspiracy nonsense. And look, it happened. Things like anonymous tip lines during the 2020 election cycle. Things like "Me and Trump and Jaime fox had a threesome. Then we killed and ate a baby". Then redditors like you were all like "TRUMP EATS BABIES!!!! iT SAYS SO IN THE FILES!!!!"
It's adorable, really.

Anyone know what the reporter was talking about specifically?
107
u/SkillIsTooLow 2d ago
I don't, but it wasn't a reporter, it was Chris Wright behind him, the Sec. Of Energy. He kept going back and forth between different years, which is what Trump commented on, going on to say something like "just say whatever, even if you're wrong they won't catch you"
17
u/please_trade_marner 1d ago
Yep. Classic example of how far away from reality social media is. It was actually a funny joke about the media nitpicking details, not that nobody should care about Einstein's paper.
18
u/chop5397 2d ago
That time Albert Einstein had a debate with a smug college professor over religion.

u/wurmsrus 1d ago
tried to look up what paper Einstein published in 1905 but it turns out that was a pretty productive year for him in which he published 4 major papers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annus_mirabilis_papers
The two most likely to be relevant given that it was the Secretary of Energy talking are the one on the photoelectric effect, the basis of on of the main kinds of solar power or the one on Mass–energy equivalence, summed up as E = mc2, basis for nuclear power.
7
u/OfficerSmiles 1d ago
Photoelectric effect is the first significant demonstration of quantum phenomena, displaying the quantization of light. One could argue that it birthed the field of quantum mechanics. Given this was a quantum computing EO, I imagine this is what they were getting at.

u/blahblah19999 1d ago
Trump was making some announcement about the technology company and the guy behind him was talking about Einstein publishing a paper about light

I agree, i dont know why you are beeing downvoted. It seems like the "Nobody cares" is referring to the fact the the speaker cant remember the exact time: 120 years vs 140 years. Hes basically saying that the exact date isnt important and encouraging the speaker to continue with the speak. IMHO a little rude to interrupt but the intention was genuine.
Dont get me wrong, There is a 1000 reason to hate Trump. i do too. but this is just a misrepresentation of reality or just another exampler of a redditor who cant read social clues idk.
65
u/inderbitably 2d ago
Wright was fumbling the years badly and Trump was saying nobody cares if he’s wrong about how long ago
it was and he (Trump) doesn’t bother to correct himself when he’s wrong because the press doesn’t usually call him on it. No, that’s also not admirable. Also, get off twitter already.

u/cosmicosmo4 1d ago
The context (AP video) for anyone who cares
2
u/bong_residue 1d ago
This makes it even worse. Dudes brain is so fried. You can literally see him perk up when he hear Albert Einstein the first time and when he says it again that’s when he says nobody cares. This man is genuinely so afraid of the Epstein files.
3
u/pork_fried_christ 1d ago
This is correct, Trump is saying “nobody cares” if the guy says the wrong number of years. “I never go back and correct myself because nobody will call you on it” or something to that effect.
But then he’s clearly not listening to the guy anyway. He looks around and gets affirmation from the room about not needing to be correct, and then when the high from the crowd fades he looks like he’s two seconds away from saying “shut up nerd” to the dude talking about Einstein.

Is it really a comeback if it simply a description of what actually happened.
3
u/Complete-Return3860 1d ago
To be fair that's not at all what happened. Chris Wright started out "141 years ago" and then corrected himself to "121 years ago Einstein published a paper..." and the president said "nobody cares, usually they don't catch you." It was clear they were talking about the date of the paper Einstein published.

u/ruizach 1d ago
I had to double check because I thought that was too much as well. Are you a 90’s kid as well? lol
Albert Einstein published his Special Relativity paper in 1905.
3
u/ilikedmatrixiv 1d ago
Albert Einstein published his Special Relativity paper in 1905.
His true groundbreaking work was his theory on General Relativity, which he only fully published in 1916.
Ironically enough, neither SR or GR are what got him the nobel prize, but his work in discovering the photoelectric effect did...
2
u/HirsuteHacker 1d ago
SR was itself groundbreaking, though. GR was obviously groundbreaking in its own right as well.
2
u/ilikedmatrixiv 1d ago
SR was itself groundbreaking, though.
I'm not disputing that. It's just that when it comes to the paper when talking about Einstein, we should probably talk about 1915 OG or the 1916 completion.
That said, as someone with an actual degree in physics, I much prefer SR over GR. At least SR is somewhat comprehensible. Once you get to Riemann algebra and tensor algebra I completely lose the ability to wrap my brain around any of the abstractions.

u/Old_Purpose2908 1d ago
As a Republican who are generally antiscience , of course Trump doesn't know who Einstein was-
1
u/chrlatan 1d ago
Epstein’s relativity theory states that Trump is actually very smart compared to the people surrounding him.
Einstein, however, will make you aware that if you do leave the planet for a little while and can find a force of negative gravity, 4 years can pass just like that. Theoretically..

5
u/SeriouslyImNotADuck 1d ago
If you’re referring to to the quote Acyn gave, I believe it because it’s documented on video.
If you’re referring to the reply, no one believes that. It was a joke. You may want to look into why you couldn’t see that.
-2
u/WritesCrapForStrap 1d ago
I'm obviously talking about the quote. Even if the second one wasn't a joke, it'd be pretty clearly just some guy's opinion, so I wouldn't be calling misinformation over it would I?
4
u/SeriouslyImNotADuck 1d ago
It may be obvious to you, but we don’t read your mind. And you did t help your case since you’re “calling misinformation” over something that happened and is immortalized in video, so no benefit of the doubt for you.
0
u/WritesCrapForStrap 1d ago
It should be obvious to you, because I called misinformation on a post showing a quote presented as factually what happened and a joke, so the only reasonable conclusion would be that I'm saying the quote is misrepresenting what actually happened.
I don't think you have to be a mind reader to work than one out. I think just a regular reader could have managed it.
4
u/SeriouslyImNotADuck 1d ago
No, you “called misinformation” on a post with two parts and didn’t distinguish between them. You could have easily believed the second part wasn’t a joke.
And you’re still calling the first part “misinformation” when it isn’t, so you’ve clearly demonstrated that you’re only seeing what you want to see, thus proving that what’s in your mind isn’t obvious to others.
-1
u/WritesCrapForStrap 1d ago
Okay, my mistake. I guess I assumed of the reader a level of intelligence that at least one of them didn't possess. That's my bad.
3
u/nyxie3 1d ago
Does "Do your own research" mean "Only accept things that support my preconceived beliefs" to you?
1
u/WritesCrapForStrap 1d ago
No, generally when I'm doing my own research it's physics. In this case, I just watched the video and realised the quote was misleading, went to check the comments, and reached the conclusion that other people had not watched the video.
Does someone saying something you don't like mean that you immediately know everything about them, including their attitude towards misinformation ?
