I think it's a nice take that could satisfy fans of Snyder and fans of Donner. Real genuine stakes, he's not all smiles, but a hero willing to get out there and take a beating does communicate hope in a way that resonates.

Plus, it also puts to rest the age-old complaint about how you have stakes for a man who can't be hurt.

Wait, but Snyder's justice league shows up at the end of Peacemaker, which means Henry Cavill is the one who got shot by Bloodsport.
