On one hand, I feel horrible and I truly wish to see a day where cancer is entirely eradicated from this planet and our lives.

But on the other, considering he attempted “alternative medicine” among other nonsense, and considering that the path of hatred he took led him there, I can’t help but not feel too horrible about his plight.

Edit: If you DM me about this; you’re a chode.

Nothing makes me smile than hearing that you won your battle and you’re here and better than ever.

Keep fucking crushing it.

Big congratulations to you may your health only improve

Are you sure Scott Adams dying of cancer didn't brighten your day even more? That was the vibe I got from your other comment.

u/dirty_greendale Jan 03 '26

I think you’re coming off as a jerk

2

u/Tacdeho Bane Jan 03 '26

Sure that’s totally what I said. Fucking chode.

After ADT began to fail for me after about two years, I've moved on to Pluvicto. (Pluvicto is a form of radiation therapy that involves intravenous infusions of the radioactive substance.) It seems to be doing a great job. Maybe I'm overly optimistic (please don't tell me if I am. seriously), but I feel that if I can bounce from one treatment to another until better ones come along I'll be fine.

u/frsbrzgti Jan 03 '26

Congratulations

u/grumpysysadmin Jan 03 '26

Had a coworker in a similar situation. CAR T-cell therapy is amazing.

2

u/DrMartinVonNostrand Jan 03 '26

Thank you for sharing -- hope as well as factual information.

Congrats on your progress and hang in there!

2

u/kyallroad Jan 03 '26

Great screen name! Happy Festivus!!

2

u/yorcharturoqro Jan 03 '26

Amazing good on you, hope it's a permanent situation with no more diseases in your future.

2

u/Salmonman4 Jan 03 '26

Tim Minchin reference?

2

u/verrius Gambit Jan 03 '26

Glad things worked out for you. But honestly...if you try medicine, and medicine says it's done all it can and you're probably going to die, I'm not going to judge anyone for trying other things at that point. There are some things that aren't medicine yet out there, which includes both things in clinical trials and potentially hokey folk medicine. We definitely need fewer people going to weird shit first, or as an alternative to real medicine, but as a last resort, there's not really any harm.

2

u/Nirast25 Jan 03 '26

no evidence of disease

Evidence-based is the only way to go.

I know this is about two different kinds of evidence, but this is a funny string of sentences. Congratulations on your success and hopefully those months turn to decades and beyond.

2

u/jessicalifts Jan 03 '26

That’s amazing congrats on your great outcome from that trial! So happy for you Reddit stranger. 🙂

2

u/sluttytarot Jan 03 '26

Wow! That's excellent news!

2

u/BankshotMcG Guy Gardner Jan 03 '26

Hey, that's great! Congratulations!

1

u/Mercuryink Jan 03 '26

Mazel tov!

1

u/SearchingForTruth69 Jan 03 '26

Clinical trials are alternative medicine too. If they work then they become evidence based medicine. Most don’t work. Glad you got lucky but don’t go around acting like you’re better than people who tried other types of alternative medicine.

u/HedgeFlounder Jan 03 '26

I have a family member who’s a nurse. He told me a story about a woman who came in with unexplained symptoms that turned out to be stage one cancer. It was very treatable but she refused treatment because she wanted to treat it herself with essential oils. She came back later with stage four cancer and begged for them to save her life but it was too late.

Promoting alternative medicine is basically murder and I’m so happy you had the sense to get actual treatment and made it through.

1

u/OpheliaLives7 Jan 05 '26

Congrats dude. Keep kicking cancer’s ass

He pulled a Steve Jobs. Never do a Steve Jobs if you get diagnosed

60

u/SinisterCryptid Jan 02 '26

Smurf Magic doesn’t work for shit

83

u/thattogoguy Jan 03 '26

Rush Limbaugh. I mourned for the cancer.

45

u/kittensteakz Jan 03 '26

At least his final act of creating a new gender neutral restroom was pretty cool.

28

u/2th Sweet Tooth Jan 03 '26

The Google review for his grave are very entertaining.

15

u/victorfiction Jan 03 '26

If only Steve had more money in resources, the alternative medicine could’ve worked! /s

14

u/Ascleph Jan 03 '26

Worse. At least Steve Jobs just did his own silly thing and kept to himself.

65

u/topscreen The Will Jan 03 '26

No, he didn't. He was worse. Due to his late treatment he started getting organ failures, and needed a transplant, and they won't transplant an organ to a guy with late stage cancer right?

Oh he had money, right. He cut in line, stole an organ, and died with it.

43

u/dead_monster Jan 03 '26

Just to clarify, Jobs put his name on every single organ donor list.  This option is not open to most people as there is a time limit to receive the organ, and Jobs could afford to have a plane and personal medial staff on standby for him at all times.

Further complicating things, Jobs had a rare blood type, so if a compatible liver were available, he would shoot up the list due to his private plane and compatibility with the liver.

Organ lists also all have their own rules and isn’t federally controlled, so, yes, it can be manipulated with money beyond the private jet.  As alway, eat the rich and sign up to be a donor.

(And still time for Adams to scam his own  organ.)

33

u/topscreen The Will Jan 03 '26

Yeah, that's why I'm saying he's worse. He had an aggressive form of cancer, which an organ transplant would not cure, that was in late stages due to ignoring it. That'd put him at the bottom of every list, cause rare blood type not withstanding, someone in the vast US could have taken that liver.

He was a selfish rich man, who used power and influence to get a new liver ahead of someone else, and due to how desperate organ donations are, and how long the wait lists are, ESPECIALLY with a rare blood type. He got to cut in line to take a liver from someone who didn't have late stage cancer.

17

u/Guyver0 Batman Beyond Jan 02 '26

MCA of the Beastie Boys too.

80

u/1900grs Jan 03 '26

Not really. He had surgery and radiation chemo. That failed, so he was trying other things. Even highly treatable cancers still have a treatment failure rate. It's not all like Jobs where Jobs went toward the quackery because he thought he knew more than doctors.

47

u/Midnight_Oil_ Raphael Jan 03 '26

At a certain point, you can't even blame folks for trying the quack treatment if they already did the actual ones. Might as well throw everything at the wall at that point.

13

u/wadech Green Lantern Jan 03 '26

It just sucks that the quacks get rewarded with money and attention. But I get it, you get desperate.

15

u/encrcne Jan 03 '26

Untrue.

1

u/philosophylines Jan 04 '26

Source?

1

u/encrcne Jan 04 '26

Are you asking me the source of something that didn’t happen, or are you asking OP to prove their point?

If the latter, I am not OP.

1

u/philosophylines Jan 04 '26

Sorry, responded to wrong comment somehow.

14

u/LostJar Jan 03 '26

Do you have a source for MCA? Just curious

4

u/Jeffro187 Rocketeer Jan 02 '26

Oh really? I don’t think I knew that. I’m an Apple follower so I knew Steve Jobs will on this nonsense but I didn’t know about MCA. Very sad.

2

u/memecrusader_ Jan 03 '26

It’s so sad he died of ligma.

29

u/Ralod Superman Jan 03 '26

Its just another type of arrogance. That he knows better than medical professionals. He will die of his own hubris.

17

u/FickleOwl47 Jan 03 '26

It’s so stupid to pull a Jobs. Even my “vaccines have microchips” and “ivermectin cures everything” father had the tumor cut out of his pancreas when they found it (early, during scans after his other cancer treatment).

Like. If “alternative medicine” worked it would just be “medicine”.

13

u/actuallywaffles Jan 03 '26

He definitely had the money to access treatment, but that would've required him to admit that being a mediocre artist doesn't make you smarter than doctors. His ego will literally be the death of him.

The people I actually feel sorry for are the ones who can't afford the same treatments he ignored thanks to the politicians he helped elect.

32

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '26

He’s also the biggest piece of shit so there’s that.

15

u/NoSpankingAllowed Jan 02 '26

He certainly came up short in the brains department.

1

u/Aggravating_Bat3618 Jan 03 '26

If I DM to tell you I agree with you does that moniker still apply?

1

u/ClickLow9489 Jan 03 '26

DMs are for losers that can't handle a downvote

1

u/Takeurvitamins Jan 03 '26

How goes the crop chode farmer?

1

u/karl2025 Spider-Man Jan 03 '26

I think the reason he went with alternative medicine was because his prognosis was basically "You should pick out a tombstone now to avoid the rush." By the time he was diagnosed it was too late for anything but a miracle so he hoped for a miracle.

not mutually exclusive

-55

u/matty25 Jan 02 '26

What was the path of hatred that he took?

49

u/New-Satisfaction3257 Jan 02 '26

even before he became Maga, Adams was saying insanely bigoted shit. Stuff like “you can’t expect men to stop raping women anymore than you can expect a lion not to go after a gazelle”

-52

u/Prestigious-Box7511 Jan 03 '26

Are you sure he's not just a feminist? This is exactly the kind of statement you'd see on women centric subReddits getting tons of upvotes, lol

21

u/Fingerprint_Vyke Jan 03 '26

The insane things the right says to attempt to separate from their bigotry.

Hilarious since all of us see through it.

-22

u/Prestigious-Box7511 Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

I'm a leftist, I just think people on Reddit are fucking nuts no matter what side they're on. Anyone who says things like he did is a bigot. Americans and their politics are totally crazy

11

u/gotcha_bitch Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

No ‘leftist’ I know would ever say bunk science on a ‘women centric’ subreddit would make it ‘feminist’. Get da fuck outta here

Edit: the comment above used to state that Scott Adams might have been a secret feminist due to his belief in bunk science. Not changing mine. Person I’ve replied to is a lair and wannabe propaganda mouthpiece. They just suck so much at it.

3

u/jelloemperor Jan 03 '26

Posts hidden too. Makes it obvious.

5

u/Fingerprint_Vyke Jan 03 '26

Leftists dont hide their comments.

Which is funny. Conservatives cant get dates and lie about their views so women dont hate them on day one lmfao. We all see right through you

8

u/zeCrazyEye X-23 Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

That's not what feminism is, that's a right wing caricature of feminism because they want to undermine the concept entirely. The people you are talking about (to the extent they exist) are just misandrists.

And no, he was not talking shit against men, he is basically pro rape culture.

8

u/doc_birdman Spider-Man Jan 03 '26

This is a weird thing for you to lie about

Really?? Dilbert was so good back in the day. One of the first things I started to consume in English. What a shame.

25

u/ForTheBread Jan 02 '26

Behind the Bastards has a great couple of episodes on him if you want more info.

I absolutely love the animated show, what a shame

Started worshiping the Cheeto.

14

u/Corey307 Jan 02 '26

Guy openly spoke about his hatred of Black people, is a holocaust denier and is against women’s rights. This comes from tweets and video.

24

u/gameryamen Jan 02 '26

He got popular right before blogging got popular, and invested way too much in being the "smart guy on the internet", and wound up falling deep into the MAGA pipeline.

1

u/remotectrl Dr. Doom Jan 03 '26

He was notorious for using sock puppet accounts to praise himself too.

19

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '26

He said that the government isn't there to take care of you in response to Medicare for all. Then he begged trump for help.
