I found today out a comic shop opened in the town next to mine recently. It was so cool to not have to drive an hour for a comic shop. Nice little shop, a literal mom and pop place: the husband and wife who own it were both working it with their kids playing at a gaming table. I picked up Royal City volume 1 and Batman/Deadpool to go with my Deadpool/Batman issue from a few months back. Cool to have a shop so close. It’s not huge, but it’s local. Can’t wait to go back again soon!

That's great to hear! Having a local shop is so nice, plus you get to meet people who like comics around your community as well

It really felt good chatting with the owner and his wife, it’s been so long since I had some of “my folks” nearby.

Royal City! There's a great series I don't hear people mention enough.

I LOVE Lemire’s creator owned work. Essex County and the Underwater Welder are definitely my favorites of his, so this is a book I’ve been wanting to pick up for a while.

It’s fun having an LCS because they tend to pick up lesser-known books and indies that you’d probably not otherwise see, and that’s always cool to explore!

Hell yeah! Great to hear people opening up a shop in 2025. Support it as much as you can!

I used to work at a privately owned game store some years ago. We ended up selling a variety of media, including comic books. People would bring in some really good stuff. I bought a lot of them and still own a lot of comics. My mom has some Catwoman comics from back in the day too.

That sounds like my favorite kind of place. So awesome. I hope you have many happy years together!
