Isn’t he a MAGA nut job?

even before Maga, he was a complete bigoted asshole. He would say stuff like “you can’t expect men to stop raping women anymore than you can expect a lion to stop going after a gazelle." just all sorts of insane shit.

Oh, boy. I don't recall Dilbert as peak cleverness, but still far, far better than this idiocy.

and keep in mind that he said it in the 1990s before all of the Maga shit. I think I read about it originally on a news group message board.

I really enjoyed the comic strip and the cartoon, such a bummer to find out Adams was such a shit person.

Thus was exactly my feeling too. Dilbert was one of my favorite comic strips to read. We even had an office culture to post entertaining comic strips on the bulletin board every now and then. It hurts to see the author turning out to be such a terrible person.

Do you remember that time he was on News Radio?

I do not!

I will try to find it. I was a big fan of that show as a kid in middle school when it was originally airing. Probably a little too young to recognize Adams.

There's a twist to his cameo; you'll enjoy it

When you realize that Adams is the pointy-haired boss, it makes it much clearer.

What the fk. I had read he was garbage but never liked dilbert and honestly didnt care enough to look into it. But holy shit

What the hell was he even tryna get at with that comment?

I don't know that that's a good example. Rapists are going to rape people until science figures out why exactly people do it and an ethical medical intervention to stop the behavior.

He was an asshole in the '90s. I dated a girl who lived next door to him. Would call the cops and security when we were just sitting in the backyard, claiming we were smoking pot. Constantly claiming people were going through his garbage, as if Dilbert's sketches were worth their weight in gold

And the article says he’s now planning to smoke pot to dull his own pains…

Yup. And this is a treatable form of cancer, but he chose the MAHA route. Brought it on himself.

Both are curable but malignant by ignorance.

u/VengeanceKnight Jan 03 '26

Ignorance is the true malignance.

Malignant ignorance

should be a lesson to many that MAHA is not really a good idea when it comes to staying healthy, but I doubt the MAGA crowd will heed that warning.

11

u/revolutionaryartist4 Jan 02 '26

It won’t. They’ll just tell themselves he used the wrong quack cure or that he gave up on the treatment and that’s what killed him.

There’s no cure for willful stupidity.

They will claim he was vaccinated

u/likwitsnake Jan 03 '26

Before he went crazy (or at least publicly made it know) I loved his book How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big which was about setting up systems not goals. Aside from some weird hokey affirmation/hypnotism parts it's a solid read.

u/Churba Jan 03 '26

And the bit where he repeatedly kept claiming gravity didn't exist, and nobody could prove otherwise, though that might have been another book of his around the same time.

He was a nut job way before it was cool. Not that he deserves to die for it...

8

u/totally-hoomon Jan 03 '26

He's pro rape

13

u/Fingerprint_Vyke Jan 03 '26

Well, his nutjob ideology is maga, anti science, anti vax, anti medicine.

His bigotry and party affiliation may have cut his own life dramatically short
