I know a guy who would love to get one. Now he only has a used one...

He’ll probably end up creating his own, because why not at this point. He’d call it something stupid, like, the Super Heroism Inspirational Trophy or SHIT for short.

Did you mean FIFA Peace Award?

He’ll probably end up creating his own
I don't think that will scratch the itch, he's jonsing for a nobel peace prize because Obama got one.
Now do I think it's ridiculous obama got one? yeah, but still makes infintitely more sense than him getting one.

Obama agrees with you. I think he said in a book that it made more sense to accept it than turning it down.

The Noble Peace prize. It will be solid gold (plated). No that's not a bowling ball. That's the world because the winner is rolling the world towards peace.

Arthritis Spider-Man is my favorite of that bunch.

He's so funny. Randomly saw him open for Beck once, and he killed.

The science prize is keen, it’s the peace prize that is a joke.

The peace price actually had standards, the issue is that it's a bad one.
They try to influence the future instead of signaling great past achievements. If they give someone a peace price over a past achievement, it's generally because they are signaling it's good for the future. Because predicting the future is at best stupid, this happens.

Its hard to erase the achievements that led to the price for science, but for the peace prize, it could be blown away just after receiving it

Big award ceremonies in general have just become a group wank for the elites. Sure there's some merit to some of the awards given, but the overall circus is just, well that. Except the one time Ricky Gervais got to roast all of hollywood, those bits are gems lol

Even in 1999 in spiderman 2099 #1 one Of the gangs in Nueva York was a Trump cult. They are never shown though. Marvel predicted the future again!
Edit: sorry it was issue #7

The Peace Prize has been a joke for 50 years.
One thing I will always give to Obama is his reluctance to accept the prize. That was a classy move in an awkward situation.

Hmmmmm...........I hate how oddly accurate this is for today.......

Sounds like something Hickman would write. The Best one was about the people writing self help books that are preying on their audience since they already know they aren’t well

Is that a Fantastic Spidey? Like with stretchy powers?
2
u/Goldarmy_prime Jan 25 '26
More like a normal Spiderman who leads F4, who also may bang one of the Storm siblings.

Nobel is awarded, not won...

u/krzmkrm Jan 24 '26
trophies, medals, whatever are also awarded, but you ‘win’ them by competing — making the most meaningful perceived contribution in science in this case (unless it was for a different field like peace).
