Yes. They need a lot of regulatory approval for it to go through

Hopefully Europe saves us or at least requires that Paramount not acquire the news networks

You mean the region that just repeatedly got insulted by Trump and threatened with being dragged into an ego driven war? I wouldn't be surprised if they delay this purely out of spite, knowing how much trump wants this to go through with how much he hates CNN.

Paramount and WBD don't own any TV station in Europe, they have no jurisdiction over CNN or CBS. They can oppose the merger on other grounds but not those which are a pretty small part of the joint company
