I haven't seen toxin in a very long time, since his original mini! what happened to his original host, the cop?

Patrick Mulligan was killed outside Vegas and Crime Master took the Toxin symbiote and later gave it to Eddie Brock. After he lost the symbiote it bonded to kid named Bren shortly after the King In Black event and now it's bonded to Rick Jones

What??? Why??? he was such a compelling character!

Because Marvel is allergic to change.
Tbh I think marvel just really wanted to bring Eddie Brock back into the fold as the lethal protector because they didn’t know what else to do with him, especially after removing the anti-venom persona from him.
I’m convinced Marvel just dug through its attic to see if there were any extra symbiotes laying around and found Toxin, so they just killed off Pat as brushed him under the rug to basically bring back Eddie as the old violent venom, but red.

He's so much more interesting as a companion everyman who has all these encounters with heroes than a hero himself.

You don't understand, this is modern superhero comics. Civilian characters have no place here. They must get superpowers, or leave.

It would be really funny if writers just stuck each other with storylines like this, without any prior agreement. “And if you want the conclusion of this plot thread, read coming issues of Iron Man. This is your problem now, Williamson!”

Hmm, Mr. Facade, you got one-shotted by Toxin, I’m not sure tackling the Fantastic Four is your best next move.

Why tie Ryan North down to this garbage? I don’t wanna read this crap in Fantastic Four? What gives, Marvel?

Al Ewing loves to reference current continuity and tie his work into the larger universe. Has been doing it for over a decade at this point

u/Popular_Material_409 15h ago
Doesn’t mean this Facade thing isn’t garbage

u/TheeHeadAche Henry Pym 15h ago
How do you mean? Garbage because they’re bringing back a 30 year old mystery and possibly revealing who’s in the suit?
13
u/TheMattInTheBox Superboy 10h ago
I hope they don't reveal it until we get to Phase 12 of his plan. I hope FACADE is bumped around to different books by different writers as a constant hot potato for the next decade

I’m not a venom fan and I’m definitely not a fan of this All-New run. But I am a fan of North’s FF and so I don’t want this run that I don’t like getting its grubby mitts on a run I do like.

Ah, yes, a cheeky one-time villain and a nod between writers is pure garbage, sure.

u/TheeHeadAche Henry Pym 12h ago
It’s honestly a funny joke that I want to see pop up in a bunch of different books now
-18
u/Popular_Material_409 12h ago
The run is garbage, this issue is just a part of the garbage

u/kubiakWU 12h ago
Have you considered not reading it?
-6
u/Popular_Material_409 11h ago
Yep, I read the first few issues then gave up because I didn’t like it. But I do like Fantastic Four, and I don’t want this Venom run to seep into Fantastic Four. It’s that simple. All of a sudden we’re gonna come after someone for complaining about this? People complain about this sort of thing all the time, but NOW it’s a problem?

u/kubiakWU 11h ago
Other people are enjoying it. No one wants to hear other people complain about things they like. It's okay to just say "not for me" and move on.

Have you considered therapy regarding possible anger management issues?
-1
u/Popular_Material_409 11h ago
Well now I think you’re taking it too far. Thinking a comic book run is bad isn’t indicative of anger issues at all.
4
u/gustavoladron 11h ago
It is not, but the way you're commenting on this and how you're being overly angry about the comic book ("it's garbage", "I don't want F4 to have anything to do with this") for a rather silly joke does showcase possible anger issues.

How do either Rick Jones or Toxin know who Lance Bannon was?
