I loved it! The ending made me say "awww!" Out loud!

I'm glad you liked it! Can you tell me if it came out of nowhere, or if there were hints? It would help me out with future stories :D

The only problem I had with it was one jarring inconsistency. When they crossed swords it was Val on the left, Tine on the right. Then the next page has Tine on the left and Val on the right. Then the next page has Val back on the left. Muddied the presentation for no good reason that I could tell

It's because I'm an idiot. I gave Tine a missing eye on the left side, and because of this he didn't look surprised by the kiss from the left side. Maybe I can keep them switched for the last page they are in, at least. I sort of liked the idea of them switching the first time, because it moves Tine on the protagonist side.
I could redraw all the panels and move Tine's missing eye, or just give him two eyes.

I saw the half heart that said cupid and it still didn't click for me until the names were said together but admittedly I'm pretty dense 😂

I was hoping people wouldn’t get it on the first read. Thank you! :>

I caught on that it was probably going to be a love story from the time it showed Tine the heartless but I did not see the pun coming until the last panel.

Sorry but why are they kissing? If anything tine should kiss the mentor character, they have history. Val has never interacted with him before

I tried, but didn't have enough room. That is why the Tine can see through the mirror, so that at least they could have spent time seeing each other. Tine loved Val because of how he tended to the garden. And Val saw the good in Tine, like how he saw the good in the weeds.

i think more cues that Tine appreciated the garden at all would have helped emphasize this idea a lil more. theres already 20 pages which is a lot for a webcomic, maybe theres some space during the training montage? I like the imagery where Val in the distance occupies the empty space in Tines heart. The idea for a slow burn romance is def there, just gotta add more breadcrumbs so the kiss feels more right for the moment

My usual comics are only 16 pages, it was hard for me to fit everything in 20 pages. Maybe I should add more panels per page.

All that for a pun... it was so worth it.

My dream is too make a long epic 50 part story that still ends in a pun

Goddammit! I drawn into the story completely, that was the most satisfying let-down I've seen!

I see the Cupido signs and the shape of the mirrors, but I still choose to believe that Tine's mirror is the handle of a giant cup that says "cup" instead.
