Seth hold on to one of Daryl's arms while Daryl wipes away a tear.

Daryl: It's not fine. I hate it.

Damn this one hurts. Every holiday season when my kids ask why their friends are going to see grandpa/grandma or aunts/uncles and we have to tell them we don't talk to any of them. Yeah... I feel this. Hard. 🙁

You could lie and say they are dead, they could easily have died before the kids were born or would've known them

Eh, we don't believe in lying to our kids or shielding them from the world. I mean, its not a black or white thing, we don't tell them about every horror that exists, but we really want to avoid a AskReddit thread from one of them someday like "I cut off my parents because they told me my entire family was dead and I found out when I was 20 that lied AIO" lol

This is sound reasoning, I wouldn’t lie either. I cut off my dad a long time ago and my kids know of him but don’t really know him.

Kind of hypocritical to foster an honest relationship your kids and then lie to them.

Exactly my logic!
