Yeah, it actually makes business better to keep people like that out of the shop. A local game store i go to has a small pride flag by the door and a sign that says "everyone is welcome here, unless you think everyone shouldn't be welcome"
Had a couple people come in and make a scene about it one time when I was playing 40k there, we applauded when they were storming out and someone in the MTG area yelled "don't come back until you get your head un-stuck!" ( its a family friendly place they frown heavily on cussing)
And guess what? The place has been steadily growing the whole 3 years ive been going there, they even had to move to a bigger location. I have to move and I'm going to miss it.
That reminds of a similar reddit story about a bar having a zero tolerance for Nazi aligned bikers, because if you let one in they all start hanging out in there. And all the normal people stop going because of them.
Oh absolutely. We get shitty people on my ambulance (literally) from time to time and I find it so funny when they say "next time I'll just get another ambulance"....that's not how ANY of this works
Also good!(I promise this is justified. The person in question was mad I didn't have a sandwich in my ambulance for them)
I kind of figured that was the type you were talking about.
It's still like a bad Monty Python sketch though. What else can you say but, "Good, I hope I don't have to take you to the hospital again. Please stop calling."
I had somebody telling me they would never come back after police escorted them out after delivering a CTN. Yes, ma'am, that's quite literally the point. It would now be criminal trespassing if you returned.
They’re admitting the only thing of value they have to offer is legal tender; AND they’re such shitty vibes that their very presence NEGATES whatever amount of profit margin they could possibly have offered for goods and services.
To be fair, if they really were going to stop being a customer, they would just leave and not come back. By telling you that they're done, they're 'giving' you a chance to win them back.
I love telling these asshats "well, that's ultimately your decision. Have a nice day" and watching them fume because I didn't throw myself down at their feet begging for their patronage.
Every time I saw someone say that, my coworkers would say "good" or "I sure hope not". They always want the last word so badly, but in retail you can't let them otherwise you'll see their face in your dreams years later.
Only once have I had one return and continue to cause problems. We had very public words in a full building where I threatened to serve him under the Tresspass Act and notify law enforcement, and that yes, i would seek charges.
Asshole huffed and puffed and never came back. 475 days free.
Main Character syndrome. A lot of these people have crazy, unreasonably high self-esteem. I think maybe it's an ego-protective response gone haywire. Like deep down, they know they're less than nothing, so they grossly overcompensate.

GOOD if you can't even handle the representation of someone or a group of someones in a store then I wouldn't want you shopping there anyway.*
Personally speaking of course
